Default Strange clicking coming from engine bay when engine is on

I just got my car a few weeks ago, it has 900 miles on it. I just noticed it today, but its really cold out also today for the first time, I drove from my house to a friends and when I got there I opened the door and heard a clicking coming from the drivers side (seems that way atleast) and I sat and revved the motor a lil (idle to 1300ish) and it was getting faster when the engine was being revved. The car was a dealertrade and had 90 miles when it got to me from Naples. The car doesnt have a check engine light on or anything. I havnt revved past 5K RPMs either. I havnt ever heard a noise like this, at first I thought it was rodknock but it is pretty friggin loud, I could hear it from the driveway when I was about 25 feet away. Is it maybe a loose heatshield or something? Sorry if this is a common thing with Zs, I searched but couldnt really find anything.

Could be the injectors opening and closing.

take it back to the dealer and let them know the problem first thing in the morning if i was you. This is not a common thing in any Z.

It's probably just the injectors... I thought the clicking was a little loud the first time I went through a drive through... the injectors are more noticeable on the Z than a lot of other rigs.

Could this maybe be a heatshield thats loose? The more I listen to it the more it seems to sound like a loose heatshield, if I rev it there is a metal "tink" right before the engine starts to rev...

Its disappointing to see that there was no follow up with these types of problems. I'm having the same problem with my engine clicking loud when you start the car. Sounds like its coming from the top of the engine? When the engine gets warmed up, you can't hear it anymore.
I'm search though old post to see if there was anyone else with this problem but most of them end like this? No resolution?

the clutch noise is the throwout bearing, a lot of them chatter, mine does too never really bothered me though. just another noise that this car makes. Seems like it has a new one at least once a month

i believe the Z has Hydrolic lifter's and in morning starts or colder weather when you 1st start the car some may take a few to fill up, which will create that engine clicking noise. .if it doesn't go away after the car warms up or in a few minutes then check the dip stick, although the readings never really right. .but add a little oil and see if it stops the click noise. .if not. .take a long metal something like a screw driver and place it on the injector and put your ear to it and listen threw the driver the noise. .keep doing this around the engine until you pinpoint where the noise is coming from internally. .then that should give you your answer. .
worst case it's one of your timing chain adjuster's. .i've had that happen to someones Z already. .

or i've found a TSB that im uploading in a few for you guys!

i dont guess this will help much but if you have a cold air intake that could be it

my nismo intake taps the area just below where the strut bar bolts up

hope you get it fixed

When you depress the clutch to gear box do not turne, when you let it go, you can ear the engine buging down lightly, about 50rpm, as it start to turn the gears in you trani.
