At 6'3" 225 with more of my height in my legs pushing the pedal and holding the pedal is a particular position is causing a pain in my upper thigh. Maybe I may be a half an inch too tall.
The 03 and 04 should be identical for the manuals. 05 is where it changed in some of the electronics. Try my suggestion of the inner spring, it may help increase your tension where you like it. Most auto parts storers have varrious types pf springs, if you get one to long just trim it.

All else fails, just amputate your right foot. You'll loose about 3 inches on you pedal leg J/K

Don't worry about the "experts" who have nothing better to do than take cheap shots at others' preferences.

So where exactly is that spring?

If you end up replacing it with a stronger one, be sure to post details.

I'm not 6'3 but I find the same thing becuase I have long legs. On extended trips I feel most of my effort is trying hold my foot up. In a relaxed state, my foot tries to push the pedal in about 80%.

For those of you making fun of us, this isn't about trying to find some little thing on the car to bit$ch about, after about 2-3 hours, my right leg actually starts to cramp up!

On a side note...........I also hit my knees on the seat in front of me on airplanes................and I have to stand up to let people get past me at hockey games (for US readers substitute hockey for football).

Not sure if you guys know this or not, but the Z does not have a direct mechanical connection between the throttle and accelerator pedal. It has drive-by-wire. When you press the accel pedal it sends an electronic signal to the throttlebody. There may be some kind of spring regulating pressure of the accel pedal, but it may be linked to the drive-by-wire system. Just something to consider before changing things. The d-b-w system works on intent too, so it may not help putting stiffer spring in. It may feel better, but still drive the same. It is a radically different system than almost anything that came before it. I wish I had more helpful advice, but at least its a place to start.

Good to know, thanks.

Even with D-B-W there must be a spring (or?) that regulates the pressure required to depress the gas pedal. Just have to find it and figure out a way to increase its strength!

Agreed. Having said all of this, I've had worse experiences with cars not designed for the tall. In my old '90 Integra (two cars ago), my seat position required me to stretch for the shift ***. Sort of takes the sports car feel away. In my Z the shift *** sits perfect.

I drove my Z home from Ohio about 6 1/2 hour trip and had the same leg crap issue, also I agree with the rest of you guys pedal is too touchy and if I dont give it enough gas it tries to stall, its hard trying to find a happy medium. I have a 95 Mustang with the 5.0 and it drives completely opposite, sux when you switch cars a lot. If someone finds a solution please PM me, thanks!
