Default Rear brakes squeaking when reversing?

This problem started to occur since about three days ago.
Whenever I put my car to reverse to get out of parking space and stuff,
when I apply brakes to stop the car, my rear brakes squeak.

Whats up with that?

Anyone with same problem?

Funny I got my Z from Carmax about 4 months ago (it had 25,000 miles on it). The brakes have been squeaking for about 3 months. I took the car to Carmax twice and they still did not fix the problem. I finally took it to a Nissan dealer and they said that Carmax forgot to add the shims to the brakes.

I am writing Carmax (RIGHT NOW) and I am demanding that they reimburse me for the repairs. Maybe you have a shims problem or the brakes could be worn. How long have you had the car? Better yet, does it have enough miles on it to merit new brakes?

What is the "normal" time frame when brakes need replacing?

I've had my Z for 6 months, and it was close to 7,500miles.
It's weird because there's no squeak watsoever when I'm driving foward.
But it only squeaks when I'm reversing and applying brake.

Get your hands a little dirty. Remove tire, loosen caliper, and inspect pads and rotor. A squeak here and there is normal in a Z. Or any car for that matter. Look and you shall see.

My wife's Murano was having the same issue, i took it to Nissan and they swapped out the pads. Here's the TSB for the Murano.

I also found one for 2003-2004 350Z's
