Default Z for the wife? LONG

It all started with the project car listed in the FI section. Theres a base model with a greddy kit on it for sell. The car has a blown motor, not a big deal I can swap out a new motor no problem! I have a G35 that has become a all show car. I dont really drive it much. But she use to drive it all the time and ALWAYS talks chit to me because I modded it to the point that I dont really drive it and she never drives it. Anyway she wanted a SUV a while back so we bought her one. I told her about this project car in the FI section and she said buy it and we'll sell the SUV. I was like aw this might be cool I can dive the Z every once in a while. So we headed out tonight to test drive a Z at a local stealership. She wanted to see what the car would be like and get a feel for it before we start the new project. We jumped in a new 06 and with her driving we went for a ride. Now my wife can drive, I think better then most guys. She looked at me and said she was going to push it a bit to see what it had. I was like ok. She dropped the car in 2nd and hit it HARD! I was like ok cool. I could see a corner coming up ahead and she wasnt slowing much I held on to the oh **** handle while she drifted the corner. Yes DRIFTED!! I was like ahhhh you might want to chill a bit ! But at the sametime I was like woah! She just drifted that corner! lol. We drove back to the stealership and went home. She said she wants the car. At this point I dunno really what to do! the car is a 04 base model. I dunno a lot about the Z and the models but doesnt teh base not have VDC? If were going to get this car I would really like it to have VDC. Man I want the car for the both of us but I want it to be safe for her as well!

if she is as good as you say she is, she might not need the vdc.

She is a good driver BUT if I put the turbo back on this car I would really like to have VDC. I guess I could just turn down the boost when she drives, lol.

The base model doesn't have a LSD either so it will be hard to drift without that.

I can’t tell you which model is best for you, but I can tell you the most popular models with 350Z owners.

If you want VDC you need a Performance or higher model with manny tranny.

I suspect an Enthusiast (LSD & TCS) would do fine since you live in Sacto.

Hmmm....I think tweeks has pretty much summed it up for you G352NV..

Just a comment on the various models....if you are going F/I(turbo), you will want to keep VDC/TC OFF, and it sounds like it will be a distraction for your wife anyway .....sit down and define the features that are important to you, then spend some time at nisanusa building what you want...you can see the models there....good luck!
