Number of trips to the dealer
Ok so after reading about the guy that has had 8 electric motors for his windows replaced under warranty, 3 on one side, 5 on the other side, as well as others with tire feathering issues, driveline, grinding, tranny. etc etc. It got me to thinking.
How long have you had your Z and how many trips have you had to make to the dealer to have things fixed under the standard 3 year factory warranty?
You don't need to list each thing (if any) you had go wrong, since none of us have that much time (kidding) just the number of times you have had to have warranty work done by the dealer.

Interesting that you have been a forum member for 8 months, have been keeping up with the posts, but still ask a question about reliability. Any replies to your thread would be anecdotal and not statistically valid. Correct?
just turned 30K I've been in for 1 window moter, and 1 tranny. However, when in for those things I had them do the basic fixes for the window greese marks and the rear hatch not poping up right.
so, 4 things in 2 trips.

34k miles, 2003. more than 10 trips. Car has been in the shop a cumulative of probably 2 months. about 5 separate issues. My dealer really sucks and can never get anything right the first time.

Consumer reports has collected data from hundreds of 350Z owners, and published the data here. As you can see, transmission problems have improved considerably for 2003 to 2004. On the other hand, suspension (front tire wear) and power equipment (I assume window motors) continues to plaque 2004 owners. The 2005 shows excellent overall improvement, but I’m a bit leery about the data because 2005 owners have comparatively few miles on their car. I hope this information helps in your buying decision.
