Dont want to offend anyone, but so you think your Z is faster than the 300ZX eh???
I don't know, I never saw a stock Z32 run a 13.6.
Of course, I rarely see stock Z's running 13's.
I think overall they are close in performance, with the edge going to the Z33, due to weight.
Jeremy hates the 350Z, so yeah, bias.
I have owned a 93 RX7, and driven right, it will beat a stock Z, but not by much. It was also noticably quicker than the Z32.

I love the 350 too but ever since that 300ZX came out I couldn't get enough of it's styling and interior. Not to mention the mechanics... Good luck. Plus the financing will suck if you're going that route, 96 is old in the lender's eyes.
Also, as dgz32, don't get the '96. Also, the best years were '91-'95. '90's had a soft valve problem. Do some more research. Especially when looking to buy such an old car.
Nope. That the first thing I noticed about my new Z was that my 300zx TT felt was more powerful. But thats just the nature of the beast. The old Z was more about Brute Force as opposed to the new Z's well refined "balance". It's something more of a trade off. My Old Z COULD NOT launch worth a damn. Anyone who will try to say that CAN launch an older Z better than a new Z is either an absolute lier or has had many thousands of dollars invested in the suspension which would mean the entire rear suspension geometry was changed in one way or another. The stock 300ZX rear end DOES NOT squat or transfer weight the same way that most rear wheel drive cars do. 1st, 2nd, and sometimes 3rd would always spin wheels not the mention that "jack hammer" wheel hop. I always thought that is was a design flaw. The new Z is a better car once you realize that you're not losing anything because the car is a better balance of power and handling. Sometimes I do miss my old Z when I just feel like hammering down on something from a roll, but I love my new Z more because now I can do it from a stop light as well.

The fault in the Z32 was in the rear suspension and the lack of any traction.
Ahhh, good to know if I ever see one at a light. So they didnt launch that well huh. Def good to know...

BTW... Beware the topend.
I'd give you 1/4 all day long but past that you're TOAST. From a stand still you'll be fine, but from a roll.... Lets just say those are the only times I really miss by 93 300zx TT. Feel me? Most all the street and drag races I'd won in my old TT were not in the launch but in the catch-up and over take. The 300zxTT could close a gap coming from behind FAST. And thats granny shifting and all while attempting to control the launch.

You know, somewhere I have video of my 350Z beating a Z32 TT with a couple of light mods, while my car was stock. I beat him twice in a row at Steele.
I will try to find the video when I get home from work tonight, and post it.

I'm not surprised the 300 beat the 350 in the video. I had a '91 TT with a few mods and while it was super fast, I'm looking forward to buying an '06 350Z in early 2006. My 300 was a great car while I had it, but I'm glad I sold it b/c it's just so expensive to get worked on.
Ah that's nothing a 50 shot won't fix. Don't forget in the twisties they have to spool and a 350Z doesn't.
I'm sure we could go back and fourth on this for a while but, let's don't.
They are BOTH great cars !!!!

If I could, I'd buy this one tomorrow -> http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...ist=552#vdptop
