I remember seeing that video, I wasnt suprised, that twin turbo V6 is strong, but I was pretty happy with the Z's performance against the Z32, I know if a better driver was behind the Z it probably would have been closer

Those jokers are the guys from Top Gear.. a British car magazine. They review cars and they are like Car&Driver. Both of them suck anyways. The guy driving the 300ZX was Stig.. their race car driver. I am sure if he drove the Z33 he would of won. Jeremy Clarkson (the old guy) hates the Z33 soo much that he bashed on it hard when he reviewed it. But it doesn't matter cuz he presented the Top Gear Car of the Year and that honor went to the 350z. Imagine how the douche felt?

Link to car of the year award? I laughed at that review he did, he was trying so hard to find stuff wrong with the car....the Z looked good while he was driving it though :P

Nice vid, Speaking of 300zx im in the market to purhcase one. So far i've been using the online listings such as autotrader.com, cars.com, and cardirect.com. But no luck, well I'm looking for a 91-96 TT, and its really hard to find 1 online (well atleast in my price range since im paying for it myself) on those sites, so I'd appreciate it if someone can provide me with other car listing websites, or better yet inform me about any 300zxTT sold in NJ or near.
Thanks!!

Yeah once those turbos got to spinning, it gained speed real quick. You have to keep in mind the 300zx tt cost more than a 350z, if you were to buy them brand new.

You can always try the 300ZX forums:
http://www.300zxclub.com/
http://www.twinturbo.net/net/viewfor...neral&theme=01

And if you have patience believe it or not Ebay is a good source that is where I got mine.

Good luck... I spent a year and a half looking at 300ZXs before I bought my 350... what I found then was this: either very expensive or very worn out... or non turbo. I never found the middle ground... I was even willing to have a car trucked to me but the closest I got was a white TT that was as expensive as the 350 with 40k... but very sweet. I love that car!!! I love the 350 too but ever since that 300ZX came out I couldn't get enough of it's styling and interior. Not to mention the mechanics... Good luck. Plus the financing will suck if you're going that route, 96 is old in the lender's eyes.

Default I had a chance to buy

a low mileage 1996 TT 300zx at about the same time the new 350Z was introduced.

It was a tough decision. The ZX was in perfect condition and very very fast above 2500 rpms.

The 350Z felt slower, but the acceleration was so linear, it was sort of deceiving I thought. Once I got used to the acceleration and actually looked down that the speedo, I knew what I really wanted in my driveway.

I would guess that a decent 300ZX would likely beat a 350Z. In fact, you can probably say that about many cars out there these days. The Subaru STI WRX...even the EVO would likely take a the 350Z to name just two.

However, as my sig indicates, I went with the 350Z. Am I the fastest guy on the block? .....nah.....but then again I don't have to be.

Next time you go out for a drive in your 350Z, check out the looks.....watch the reaction other people have when you roll up to a stop light.

The ZX was a great car as was the Supra TT. That was then. This is now.

The 350Z........It looks fast. It is fast. It is...unique.

Happy Motoring

Pete, if you can, go for a '94 or a '95. The '96 lost the variable valve timing on the exhaust side and as a result, lost 20hp - going from 300 to 280. Most importantly though (IMO) there isn't an ECU upgrade for that year since it uses OBDII.

If I could, I'd buy this one tomorrow -> http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...ist=552#vdptop
