before and after dyno

before and after dyno
well, just got back from the dyno. A little disappointing, but I still love the sound. Lost about 4hp and 2.5 torque from the combination of injen intake, 2.5" ypipe and flowmaster 80.
The surprising part is, I would have expected low-end torque to suffer if the y-pipe was the culprit, but torque and horsepower were up slightly until the torque started to taper off, around 5000 rpm.
The dyno run was a lot smoother than the previous, as far as spikes and transients, I think that was the hyper ground working.
I'm hoping that when an ECU comes out, my exhaust and intake mods will really kick in.
If the injen really makes the additional power the company claims, then something in my exhaust is taking away about 10hp!, but I don't feel it, and didn't really feel any difference before and after the injen.
My wife thinks its the gas I bought at an independent exxon/convenience store. she doesn't trust them and thinks its not really premium.
My computer with the scanner is out, so here's a photo of the graph.
Red is stock
Blue is with mods.

Did all your dash lights (Brake/ABS/VDC Off/ABS) come on during the run?
I just got back from the dyno myself. We started the run with the VDC Off, but at some point all the dash lights came on. We guessed at it being the ABS system not liking the front wheels being stationary while the rears spun. We weren't sure what the real cause was though. I was just wondering if this is what everyone seeing on the dyno.

With all the mods you have, it should've open up the intake and exhaust side of the engine... more cold air to combust, and bigger pipe to exhaust...
That's weird, you should at least gain 5-10hp than before the base dyno..

2003Z,
You're gonna laugh but I think your wife is right. That is a really choppy line which usually is a sign of detonation. Which in turn is caused by low octane fuel. I'd throw in a full tank of Premium from Mobil gas station or get some 103 Unleaded race fuel. I bet those numbers jump significantly. I would be dissapointed in those numbers as well.
As for the ECU part I would be surprised if that's the culprit. Make sure you reset the ECU before each dyno. It needs to adjust to the mods and remap the air/fuel mixture. If it IS the culprit then that's pathetic and Nissan can suck fat donkey d--k for being a$$holes.

I would not be surprised if the ECU is adapting to the changes. This is the same as on the Lexus IS300. I/H/E didn't get you any long term power adds without a black box or S-AFC/ITC. This is why I wish AEM would hurry up and get us an EMS. I may be wrong but I think this is the way of the world now, where ECUs are always trying to ensure everything is within their set parameters. To the ECU something has changed in a way that is abnormal and it wants to get everything back to the way it wants.
That said, it would be interesting to see a dyno run shortly after resetting the ECU.

NO WAY IN HELL I fork down $1000+ for somehting before I see a dyno. (btw, the thing can sound like a 360 Modena, BUT if it decreased HP, keep it off my car!!)

That sucks. I haven't modified anything post 2000 model so they must have really put a lock on the ECU's now. That's a bummer. Going to force us to put down $400 for a modified ECU just to unlock additional upgrades. ;P That suXXors.
