No offense but, jvanquish:

You know what's interesting about this statement is I have owned a Porsche and would not care to own another. Snob factor comes into play with a car like that. Even though you might not be a snob driving one, everyone else seems to think so. Or, that you are trying to make up for something you are short on or of.

I have owned one Porsche and six Z cars. IMHO the Z rules not only dollar for value but, the friend you meet are generally middle-upper and don't think the money or the car is everything in life. Don't get me wrong they appreciate nice things but, they let it lay there. They can compliment each other and really mean it. Typical Z or G Owner: "Nice ride .... like what you have done there..... Yours too, that's unique." Typical Porsche owner: " I spent a s#!t load on this car it better be fast...... No, I don't track the car ..... but, I don't have to." Somehow they miss the point of a fast car. Most not all 911 owners can't or want to afford another if they wreck it at the track.

You guys know if you wreck your car at the track your insurance company wont' cover it right? The ironic thing about this if you race on the street they will. Or, at least it is so hard for them to prove they end up paying. Something is wrong about our system.

Good points. I live in the most "Miami Vice" area of Portland, Or (Pearl District) and I see the same type of people you are describing. 911's that are shown, not driven; pristine Land Rovers that have never seen dirt, etc.

I'm in college as well the reason I need financial aid is because I spent all my money on my Z... jfwy.. I'm only 21 and I have worked my *** off to own a car I first feel in love with when I saw it debut if you ask me about my car I'll tell you about it but hate it when you do see other Z owners and try to talk to them and they think they are better than you depending on the edition of their car or because you are younger than them

Humm ...... I have not run into any of those here is the Bay Area. At I don't think I have talked down to any of the younger owners. Well, maybe at the track when I am trying to relay the information that I have learned over the past 30years of racing cars. I only wished that the Z was a affordable car when I was a kid. All of my Z's until this 350Z have been at least 10 years old when I purchased them. It is a real treat to be able to own a new Z for a change.

Heck Z's new have been so expensive to this point I just couldn't afford one new. That is the reason I bought a New Porsche in '88 cause it cost less than the darn Z did at that point. Frankly if a Z cost 80K now (which is what a similar Porsche goes for) I wouldn't buy one new now. Your really getting your money's worth now.

The 350Z is a great car for a great price !!!

Dont knock the 30 year olds friend, why spend so much on a porche when a Z is more fun and wont kill your bank account when it comes to insurance and parts.
Adam Corolla drives a suped up Z, he could afford a more expensive car , but the Z cars are alot fun.
