So i was driving home tonight and i was on the gas till about 5k rpm on 4th gear, then i stepped on the clutch to shift to 5th, but when i was on the clutch it was grinding for about 2 seconds and i didn't even more the shifter. Has this ever happened to anyone?
hmm ur 4th is probably gone then.. it really depends on what nissan wants to do with it, if they feel its repairable then they will probably just rebuild the transmission, if it wasnt under warranty then of course they will probably charge you your house for getting a brand new transmission. your car IS still under warranty right? and yeah you CAN take it to any nissan dealer you want. doesnt have to be the one you bought it from

wtf i've had this same exact problem for a while not... didnt think much of it, i just dont shift into fith as fast as i would like to. i took it to the dealer once and they said they found nothing wrong. my car is out of warranty now, dont know what to do.
I have an auto, when the tach passes 2k I get a noise kinda like a saw mill (not that loud) briefly as the needle pass's that point each time...its on a lease so if I take it in am I liable to be charged alot? Its just at 30k mileage

Yeah man take that sh*t in, ive never heard of that 1 before....
You have power train till 60,000...so unless ur over 60G...ur under warranty for the tranny
so my car has 31k miles, but the car was purchased in january of 2002, and the 3 year/36k mile warrenty is over, i can still get my tranny changed because its still under 60k miles?
nissan powertrain warranty is 5yr/60k miles.(your tranny is covered i believe)
this is what i thought as well but from reading threads on here most if not all people are saying that there is only 3 yrs/36K miles warranty on Z. I know for a fact that on other Nissan vehicles they have 3/36 bumber to bumper warranty and 5/60 on powertrain. can anyone confirm this?
