Default 2005 350z VS Mustang GT

Hey all... I'm about to get a new ride and I've been compering between the Mustang GT and the 350z.

Can anyone please comper between those two cars?
I've already had a test drive for the 350z but still haven't tried the mustang.
and by the way, which one has better sound (engine, exahust) and feel?

thanks.

Take a ride in a Mustang V-8: the torque is exhilarating. Then decide which you favor, and buy it.

+1 to what David said. They are two completely different cars. If you wanna have a great platform to drag race, then Id do the Mustang. And for the $25K or so a GT costs, you would only be getting into a damn base model Z so in that case Id go for the Mustang myself...Id rather have a great handling, stopping, looking car (all opinion of course) over a car with good straight line ability and so so performance in other things.

Actually they are both sold over here for the same price. The Mustang GT Premum and the 350z track (brembo brakes, 18" wheels and +20HP)

Just depends on what you're going for really. Test drive them both and choose

I like the Mustangs (my best friend has one) but I still prefer the Z.

+1 with what both of them said. Go with what floats your boat, what fulfills your desire for the price and what your really wanting out of the vechile of choice.

I want the 350z, But I'm getting better price for my trade in car at the Mustang dealership
In addtion... I really want manual tranny, but the 350z is too tight for me so I can't get have it manual (clutch). I'm 6'2

the exterior of the car... I LOVE the 350z. But I would love to have V8... that makes me lean to the mustang (never had a V8).

Too tight as in small? And your only 6'2"? Im 6'1" and I have PLENTY of room. Actually I know we have some 6'6"+ Z owners on this board. Maybe you should adjust your seat better? Unless you weigh 300+ lbs you should have no problems fitting a 6'2" guy in the Z.

handling and stopping is pretty much the same... looks...hmm... with a little work, a stang will turn heads and snap necks. Plus the sound of a mustang's v8 is soooo sexy. the engine is more responsive to mods and the mods are cheaper. The interior is better in a mustang. NO HIDs tho... i didnt like that, and it feels....big.

I was gonna trade my Z in for a stang GT a coupla months ago, they just didnt have any.. nobody did..

I say.....go for a Stang.

You’re right.

A friend of mine has a ‘Stang GT and we swapped cars. The V8 engine sounds great and has plenty of torque. But it has as much steering and brake feed back as my Xbox controller. Plus plenty of body roll.

I didn’t like it. I find the Z is more involving to drive, more responsive. It’s a bit small though and it can’t carry it’s own set of track wheels.

Try them both and chose the one you like !

Both are very good sporty cars. Both handle very well (although in a different way). Both will turn heads. The Z is a little bit more exclusive. Mustangs are very common around here and getting more so every day. I have owned both but for now I will stick with the Z. However, in a year or two when the new Camaro hits I might buy one of those if they go with the retro style (1969 Z-28 look a like).

Agreed! Worse resale value less reliable. Better mod potetial. The Z gets more looks. Mustangs are common. 4 seats vs 2 seats. Equal in speed stock for stock.
Hard decision I made mine a month ago ...Z.

give it another 6 months to a year and ull see that mustangs are gonna be a dime a dozen.... i dont see as much Z's on the road as i do mustangs.. i mean the new mustang came out a few months ago and already ive been seeing more of that than a Z. but hey its your choice, but im happy with the Z and its exclusiveness.

Just about all the car magz compared these. Look for the comparison in Car and Driver. That is the least biased magazine.
The Mustang was chosen over the Z because it wasn't as sporty (harsh) of a ride, but still had the power of 300 hp to lay down. The RX-8 was also featured in the comparison (the 3 hottest sport cars of 2005). Mustang finally has a new chassis in over 40 years!!!!!!!!! It's about damn time!

I recently sold my APS ST 350z and bought an 06 Premium package Mustang GT. I got rid of it less than 2 weeks later.....need I say more?

I missed the Z and the Mustang does NOT handle anywhere near as good as the Z. You'll also be buying gas every 200 miles if your lucky. Bought 5 tanks in the 2 weeks averaging close to 10 mpg.

The Z is much prettier and just about as fast as the Mustang. The Mustang is always loud and it sounds nice at first..then its just annoying. The premium package interior is nice though....

That was my first and last American car
