Angry Post for no front plate fixit tickets for the Z

i don't know why.....but a fixit ticket for not having a front license plate will sure tick me off. i was pulled over once by a Colorado state trooper for no front license plate...he let me go cuz i was from out of state. BTW...the trooper looked exactly like the one hollywood depicts in those Burt Reynolds car chase movies.

I got a $55 citation in Maryland. Maryland doesn't care if you fix it or not. They sure do care about their $55.

i think it all depends on the kind of car you drive....besides the front plates, not all cars with dark tinted windows will get fixit tickets....correct me if i was WRONG.

Over the years, I've gotten about 10 no front plate tickets. Its a 10 fixit ticket but man I hate front plates. Anyways, I'm probably going to have to give in and put one on.

tell them you just had a bumper repainted and the color does not match... so now you are "fighting" the the body shop and you dont want to do anything with the bumper...

Well...you could always get one of those Z Bracket things that fit down in the bumper opening for every day use...then take it off if you ever go to the track.

my advice to you.......Never Never use the CAR POOL lane during rush hour on the bay bridge unless your driving a limo or a hertz. i got a fixit ticket for tinted window on my wife's Mercedez.
Cost me over 300 bucks cuz they send the darn ticket to my old address and i ended up paying the fine instead.

I got a no-front-plate ticket a few months after getting my Z.

Suspect the fact that it's UY caused the meter maid to give it a 2nd look... no plate on a brown beater prolly wouldn't have been noticed.

I put the plate back. Don't need the aggravation or expense.

Hey, just move to a state like PA where we don't have no stinking front plates! Eliminates the problem completely!

my cousin has gotten away with 4739287529385729 encounters with no front license plate on his celica... he tells the cop that there arent any holes provided in his front bumper to put a front license plate on and toyota never gave him the supplies to put it in... cops always let him go and he has never gotten a ticket for front license plate.. if im not mistaken the Z doesnt have any holes in the front bumper to put the license plate, but they do give u the kit to put it in, but if you think front license plates are ugly then just BS ur way out of a ticket =)

+2 Ive gotten two of these now, and like 2 or 3 warnings. I have my front plate mounted behind the factory grill, looks nice and stealthy there, unfortunately all cops don thtink so. Im not drilling my front end, and Im not buying that stupid frame that makes the plate sit out to far. I dont mind occasionally getting pulled over or getting a stupid ticket, no points.

Edit-Z bracket imo =

Its not worth it to me paying a $55 fine every time I get pulled over by the cops. I have better things that I can do with $55 rather than give it to the state of Maryland.

Imagine if a cop pulled you over and you told him you had no holes on your front bumper. He pulls out a screwdriver and pokes two holes into your front bumper. Walks away and say, "No ticket today but problem solved!"

HAHA...That goes for Denville Nissan in NJ as well. Not only do I have the bulky black bracket, but they couldn't even put the damn screws in right.
