At this point, you may as well wait for the Evo 10 and see what it has to offer. If it looks anything like this and still has the Evo 9's performance and handling, it may be my next car.

I test drove a white evo 9, it was fun. I liked it, inside I can see myself driving the car, on the outside I only like some of it, inside my Z I love it, outside I love it even more...
There are people making 400-500+whp on a stock block, stock compression Z motor that are daily driven, track ran, and street raced. Thats pretty good for a motor that starts off N/A, its easy to mod a car that comes with a turbo. The dealer I went to wanted 38K for its evo 9, after talking them down a little and with a 3K down payment, no thanks, I would rather spend that on the Z.

Honestly I'm not impress with the VQ engine in terms of FI.

When the 10 comes out, the price on the 9 will drop. Plus they'll throw more incentives at you. Then you can drive both and see which one you like better. If they sold EVO's here, I'd have an MR in the garage.

I spent some time on the Evo Forums looking in this and there are a number (5-6) of people who have made the move. From a raw performance perspective they seem to be happier. Here is the link:

The Evo seems to have a few key issues:
Clutch ware
Poor Mitsubishi service
Internal quality and rattles
AC kills HP
Alignment issues eat tires
Major transmission issues (like the Z 3rd gear)
Cost a lot to maintain (common complaint, but no real data)
From a Mods perspective they have significant upside as everyone knows.t

Yea see my proklem is dat i have owned a 300z twin turbo, 350z touring, and now a 350z roadster. I love the Z's to death but I get tired of them. I have an habit on buying a new car every year. Maybe i should just get a civic hatchback and make dat my race car instead of the Z. I mean its cheaper and you can make them fast as hell. NOT

So you can have an AWD car that spanks on other cars for well under $30k. Still not attractive though.
