Default Valet Key

I saw somewhere here a post that said that the Valet Key won't let you rev the engine more than 3K RPMs. Is this true?

NO, it only prevents the glove box from opening when locked

the valet key will not unlock the glove box, preventing parking attendants from getting to valuables. as far as preventing from reving above 3k, i dont see how that is possible. give it a try!

The dealer told me the valet key will only let the car drive for 15 miles or something like this. Is this another myth?

Agreed, comment was uncalled for and irrelevant, you guys need to grow up

I'm not a child either, its a Z not a space shuttle, let alone a ferrari or lambo.

Maybe all of the "school kids" realize that it's only a car....

To stay on topic though, the only think I recall the manual saying is that it can't get into a locked glovebox.

When you start the car with the valet key, the audios system says

“Don’t take my car for a joy ride. If you do, I’ll find out and kick you ***.”

I didn’t believe it until I tried it myself.

I don't know, but I was just asking because I read it somewhere and I always forget to check if its true or not.

For some odd reason I remember all these things when I'm working.

Maybe I think too much on my car?

Oh yeah, I'm here at the forums again instead of working!!

utec's vallet mode has some nice tricks about that, like running a different fuel, ignition map that can lower rev limit to any value u want to.
