Thumbs up Clearbra saved me!!

Guys, if you haven't invested in a clearbra yet, you should read my story...

Saturday night I was driving to a friend's. It was mostly all freeway driving because I have to take 5 freeways to get there (redondo beach to arcadia). Anyways going on the 605, i was just cruising along minding my own business, when this bimmer decides to cut really fast into my lane only about a car length ahead of me (without signaling). Now this section of the freeway was empty so there werent cars in either of lanes, his or mine. I was thinking, oh well I'll just change over one more to the left. Right after I thought that, this HUGE chunk of rock, the size of a softball comes hurdling towards me from under the bimmer's tire. It hits my bumper HARD on the drivers side just under the headlight. I heard a loud THUD. I was so pissed. I was hoping that it hit the clearbra instead of the car itself. I finally got to my friend's place, took a look and sure enough, there are just some scuff marks on the clear bra. The bra isn't even that damaged either. Just really scuffed up. But my car is saved!!!! I'll post pics when I get a chance.

Same thing happened to me, I hit a curb in the front lip while parking, clear bra saved me from a scratch.

You guys should really invest in a clearbra, unlike me Nissan's front bumper paint is horrible and really cheap; I have so many knicks and chips on it now. If I had known this , I would've gotten the clearbra when I bought the car. Now I will have to eventually repaint the front bumper and put it on I guess. The clearbra even covers the rearview mirrors and half of the hood.. kinda pricey at $500-ish , but well worth it in my opinion.

I expected someone to make a comment about the ***** that cut you off, and you seem really calm about it... but then again, it sounded like you were in his blind spot being in the lane over and a car length behind?

Look in the regional forums.. should be plenty of reputable shops in the LA area for installing clearbras

yeah I was pretty pissed because there was nobody else on the road at the time. so i drove up next to him and he was totally oblivious. which i dont know if that upset me more or if that made me just think, ok whatever it was an accident. but i got my clear bra installed by Edre at envisage design labs in torrance. and it was about $580 for the front bumper, hood, headlights, fenders, and mirrors. do a search on them here and you see their name plenty of times.

www.xpel.com

you should find a list of installers across the country.

yup, it is a saver. i have it custom-made on my rear bumper too. prevents any scratches just in case of parking tragedies.

I have a clear bra and one day I saw a gravel truck drop six or seven rocks in the other lane. Three of them hit my car with one bouncing across the front part of the hood. Not a scratch, not even something that needs polishing out. Nothing.

Mine looks like this.

Nothing's more convincing than a couple of pictures in a dark garage.

With a bumper only clearbra, You will barely notice that its there. If you have the hood done also, it looks kind of intrusive IMO, especially on darker colored cars. That being said, any new car I ever purchase will always get a bumper clearbra at a minimum
