I'm putting 2006 stock 18" wheels on my 2005(with stock 17"), will the smaller brakes make much difference?

it should be fine, since the bigger 18" have more brake clearance than 17"..no sweat, enjoy the nice rims.

Thanks, I'm not really worried about the fitting over the brakes, just concerned that they will perform well enough, did they go larger this year because of the bigger tires?

Does the new wheel weigh more than the original?

The more the wheel weighs, the greater the stopping distance. But considering the number of 25-pound 19-inch wheels that people put on their cars, I doubt if anyone cares.

When you guys upgrade your brake systems who does the mechanical work?
The dealership or someone like Meineke?

The "new" (18-35th anniv) wheel does not weigh more than the "old" 17's. And the "Rays Track Wheels" I think are the lightest if not the same weight as the 35th.
If you don't track your car very often, then you will never notice the difference between the 17 or 18, between cheap TenzoR wheels or real-deal wheels like BBS.
