What should be the first mod on my Z?
I would definetely upgrade the flux capacitor and muffler bearings. Your car runs rich from the factory so with these mods it will run an ideal 13:1 A/F ratio and you can drop a few tenths at the track
BTW those 2 mods will cost you less than $1000, with the money left over maybe tint? Any vendor on these boards can get you those parts...

I would save for another month, or two, and invest in some very nice rims and tires. Then I would move to the motor with I/H/E. Just my opinion and in fact this is what I am doing myself.
more like I/E and not H
Headers install is so inefficient and so costly
...
u'll spend the same amount for the headers install as the headers itself...
aka LAME..

1500 get good exhaust and intake
move to rims next step

resntd Test Pipes $150-$200
After that save up for a piggy back ECU to get the most out of you engine & mods. I have Unichip; $900 installed with tuning.
