Default is the speedometer correct?

lately i find myself going 60mph everywhere i go, whether it would be in a 30 mph zone or a 40 mph zone. speedometer says im going 60 but it doesnt feel like 60. and plus when im going 60 all the cars around me are going the same speed or even faster, but thats odd because not a lot of people will go 60 in a 40.

Are you talking about the big numbers in construction zones? The big lighted numbers that say “Your speed is...! I hate those things.

You can always try the simple trick of driving 60mph down a highway with an eye on your odometer, and see if you do 1 mile per minute. It's not exactly precise, but it'll give you a good idea if you're in the right ballpark.

I thought the car felt slow at cruising speeds as well, but I had my girlfriend set her cruise control at 60, and when we were even on the interstate, I set my cruise at 60, seemed to be just fine. My speedo was right on, the car just feels slower at cruising speeds, but that's a small sacrifice for driving a sports car such as the Z.

If you're in such a hurry, try doing 159. It only feels like 80.

lol, well... Except the wind pressure/sound sounds like a typhoon, that might be an indication of speed, or the fact that the other cars on the freeway will seem to be stopped while u are traveling 80

They have those in my town. They will leave them up for a week or two at random spots. Then, when everyone is use to them, there are cops around just waiting for people to ignore it. There are people always getting pulled over for it.

Where I went to school, there is a stationary one. Cops were never around that one. All it did was make me wanna see how fast I could get my '95 Buick!

My in-dash aftermarket GPS, handheld GPS, digital speedo in the triple gauge cluster and the analog one in the dash are all within a nat's behind of each other.

yup i have the pioneer N2, does the same if you are talking about a different model. and i would never leave home without one lol, those things are great. the digital exactly matches the speedo, and i have 20" rims and still feels correct.

FYI:

If you want to check your speedo accuracy, all you need is a stopwatch, a highway with mile markers, and a calculator. Hold your speed constant between 2 mile markers, time it, and divide the # of seconds it takes to cover the mile into 3600.

Try it. It's easy!

If it takes 45 seconds to cover the mile, you're going 80 MPH, irregardless of what your speedo says.
