Default owners of Daytona Blue or Super Black

Ok, as you may or may not be aware, I was close to getting a Z but then bad stuff happened so I couldn't get it. Anyway, I'm back in the market soon and I was really considering a DB with the Frost leather, has any one had problems with that color leather? Scuffing, marking, etc...? A lot of people warned me against that type, but I REALLY like it, any comments?

On the other hand, SB looks REALLY nice, but have heard black is hard to keep clean, my Honda is black, and it's not 'that' bad, then again I don't wax the car all the time, it's my 'daily' car. So, any insight on that?

Thanks ya'll.

If you decide on Frost leather, just clean it more often than black. You might avoid getting in the car with a new pair of blue jeans: wash the jeans before you wear them. Thats just common sense.

If you own a black car, then the care required for Super Black should be no surprise.

You been a forum member for 15 months. The decision isn't so difficult.

I'm not a fan of frost leather or any leather that is close to white. It seems to stain easily and I spend way too much time worrying about it. In the summer I'm scared that if I'm wearin a tank top or somethin it will pick up sweat.

can you get DB with black leather?

I had the same decision. I went with SB because I know I will always love black cars and was unsure if the frost leather would stain over time. I have black leather and my only regret is not having burnt orange leather.

I've had a DB Touring for 3 years and I've never had any problems with black leather. Personally I don't think frost would look as nice, but of course the decision is yours. To each his own.

Interesting stuff, honestly I've never had a car with white leather interior, but it looks like there is a lot of prevention and maintainence to do, thanks for the input though guys, honestly it helps a lot.

About the SB exterior color, does that actually come with the burnt orange leather? Is it easy to maintain? That's a pretty good combo, if I can pick that up I think that's what I'm going with.

what wrong with DB and frost leather color? great combo. In term of DB, no problem. If you go with SB, expect to clean your car more often and it will looks bad once you have swirl mark on your car.

I have frost leather interior as well, with daytona blue exterior. It's a beautiful color for the interior, but it is a pain to maintain from marks on the door's interior panels. Watch your feet and don't skid your shoes across the bottom of the door, that's a pain!

But it's better than black for the interior of a daytona blue Z, imo.

if you dont want to clean your car twice a week dont get black. DB is a very nice color, but dont get that frost interior, it looks horrible. Something a woman would buy.

Yes. That is the combo I have. I love the Daytona Blue. I always get comments about it.

I am also not a big fan of the frost. It looks decent, but I know it would be a ***** to keep clean.

Ouch.
I have a DB with frost interior. Its been just over 3 years and never had a problem keeping it clean. Maybe its just my personal habits...but I even drink coffee in the car almost daily.

Wear on the headrest was my only concern, but that was due to the scuffing of a military haircut over the years. Originally I wanted a black interior because the accents stand out like jewels. But the dealership didn't have an '03 DB manual with black interior, so they sold me this one below MSRP (which was a huge savings upon its early release).

I try to keep my interior, especially the dash part black or a very dark colour because one of my pet peeves is driving at night(and sometimes in the day) and see the light reflection of the car's interior on the windshield.

An example of what I mean is the reflection of the aluminum plate on the back struts bar in the trunk and how it reflects off and onto the back window.

You might want to take that into consideration.

My initial choice was Daytona Blue with Burnt Orange leather seats. I sometimes wish I got that combo.....but then I look at my Chrome Silver/Black interior baby 'n how subtley mean she will be one of these days and it just brings a smile to my face.

Wow, the insecurity. It's not like the dealer issues you a dress and purse for nights out on the town, nor do they schedule you for sex reassignment surgery. Geesh!

Woah! DB with tan interior? they have that? I didn't think that was an option, never saw it on the Nissan USA site! That is a really nice combo, even better than DB, best of both worlds with that combo. Cool interior and the DB isn't as tough to maintain as the SB...hmmm

good stuff here.

I have the super balck exterior with burnt orange leather interior and i absolutely love it. Its a rare and distinctive color combo. Only drawback to a black car is keeping it clean, but then again, i love washing my car so its no bother to me.

No problem here either with the Daytona/Frost color combo. Frost has a more upscale look to it. It will also make the inside of the car feel more "open" due to the lighter color. Try siting in a black interior, then a frost. You'll see what I mean. Black may seem "sportier" however, and frost more luxurious. Daytona is one HOT color. Turns heads big time. Definitely not stealth. Hides dirt reasonably well, unlike black. Black looks hot at sunset and in the rain. DB looks great in any light and any weather.

But some of us like the car too feel more tight. I find the Z now a bit too "big feeling" inside. I wish it could hug you in a little bit more like how a sports car should hug you in. But of course this was not done to the 350Z so much because they wanted a bigger consumer base.

I mean no insult, but one of the reason why I decided on the 350Z instead of the G35c that I was testing was that the G35c had a frost interior. It made me feel like I was in an old man's Buick. Later I found out that the G35c also came in black LOL, I just assumed it only came in white because it was more of an old man's car and that was what infiniti was trying to target, I think I could have made a different decision if I just didn't assume that G35c came with light old man's interior.

So, for those people who want to feel like they are in the open air or something like that, I guess they can like a light interior. But I bought this "sports car" to be small and tight. And I wish the interior cockpit would be more tight and hug me in more. So I guess with your logic, I'm glad I went with the Black interior.

They dont, but they should. The frost interior was the only reason i ended up getting a sb. All the db's in town had that godawful interior.
