S2k or Z
How are you going to come to a 350z forum and ask us which is faster? Of course we're all brain washed into thinking our cars are faster than stinky hondas with our big massive torque.

My thoughts exactly. I am an owner of boths cars, too.
I love them both, myself. If I had to choose only one, I'd go with the S. There is much to consider, though. The S is just flat out much more fun to drive with the 9,000 RPM redline, convertible top and Porche-like handling.
Good luck to you.

Finally we have some real track numbers with stock cars to go on instead of assumed/sterotypes that even I thought as well.
looks like the 350Z beat the s2000 track time by a lot. 8 seconds is a huge difference in tracking.

Both great looking cars, but the chicks dig the Z more in my personal poll I've taken hahahha. As far as handling, there was a video somewhere on this forum where these japanese guys were testing out handling capabilities on the track, 350z vs s2k vs Porsche Boxter vs M3 and a GTR R34 being the cameraman in the back. 350z Took the lead and finished first, S2k being second (porshe being last) etc. But if you look carefully at the video, the GTR came in and sorta interrupted the race just a bit, he zoomed forward and passed the S2k trailing the Z by a hair, thus unabling the S2k to pass the Z for a good 1-2 mins during the race. All cars were stock, so to answer the question on the twisties, I'd say they're roughly the same too, it's more of a driver's race than anything. Both cars have bullet proof motors and never really need maintenance. Both very fast + agile. However, I'd still stick with the Z since the chicks dig it more, hahahaha
Thanks, abui
Okay, then I guess we'll just settle for assumtions? Don't get me wrong, I was also one of the people who "assumed" the s2000 would be better on a track against the 350Z.

I asked in that other thread, who was driving those cars? Its not entire impossible for their to be an eight-second difference. Its a loong course and the Z out-accelerates the S2k pretty handily.
I've owned both. I had a S2000 a couple years ago, traded up to a 03 BMW M3, and now to an 06 Z. The S2000 is definitely a fun car to drive and pretty quick considering its a 4-cyl...of course there is no torque and you have to drive it very hard to get good performance. I disagree with those who say the S2000 is better in the turns. Those cars are very prone to snap oversteer, which although fun at times, can be very unpredictable and have you facing on coming traffic.
I prefer the Z over both the S2000 and M3 in terms of handling. That might surprise ppl (especially about the M3), but I really love the balance of the Z. The Z is a little quicker than the S2000, and quite a bit slower than the M. The interior on the Z is also much better than the S2000.
I personally got rid of the M3 because I was nearing the end of my warranty and didn't want to have to worry about fixing that car out of pocket. The Z is a nice down grade (at least price wise) with killer looks, decent straight line performance, great handling, and a blast to drive.

The 350Z's stereo system is not that good either >_<;; I totally have no liking for BOSE now. I've changed the head unit but I still feel dirty knowing that there are BOSE wires, speakers, and amp in my car.

Nope, I don't doubt your account, but just saying the 350Z's system is not that great either.
I can only imagine what the S2K is like since everyone has told me how sparse the S2K's interior is.

The Z has a more usable RPM band for around town driving, you dont have to rev up to 6000 for power, its there pretty much all the time. That makes the car worlds more driveable in my oppinion.

I've got to agree with you.
A year ago (when looking for a Z/G c or for an s2k) I drove all of them (many times, probably whent to every dealership (Nissan/Infiniti/Honda) within a 50 mile radius of my house...
I instantly liked the VQ, and what seemed and felt like a great and usable power ban. It reminded me of the pwr ban of my old suby (But better and faster).
As soon as I drove the first S2k, I realized that she needed to be driven "harder" to even start to have fun. Imo, there's something wrong with having to shift at redline all the time to have fun. However I must admit, for a 4 cly, its a great car.
Pure speed (direct line,)? the VQ wins.
i have 02 S2k and 04 350z.
honestly, i feel so much more torque on 350z. but on a highway S2k feel so much faster (after 6k rpm...)....I really don't understand why people talk bad stuff about S2K...
on S2KI.com nobody talk bad stuff about 350z....
