Wow, the NSX didn't even come close to the 350Z's lap time. I saw this list before but never realized how far down the NSX is compared to the 350Z's lap time. 8 seconds apart is a big difference. Even the Volkswagen Golf R32 beat it's time.

Having driven a race-prepped NSX, I can report that it was a fun, but twitchy ride. The mid-engine layout and setup on that car made the rear the first to go. It wasn't very progressive either- you could feel the rear tires developing a slight slip angle and then you had to be ready to catch it! The race prepped 3.0 liter V-6 was both powerful and tractable. You just couldn't put the power down easily, especially in a high speed sweeper.
It's no wonder that it was a handful at the 'Ring!

The NSX came with skinny bicycle tires. That's why it's so hard for it to perform well. As for the Z, this is why I refuse to "upgrade" my suspension. I really don't think that those aftermarket spring mfgrs really know what effect stiffer and little bit lower will do to a Z. The 'Ring is full of bumps and other types of uneven surfaces, so one of the keys to running fast lap times is to have suspension that really works. On smooth pavement, the stiffer the better, but that only means you're making your tires work harder because your suspension isn't doing anything for handling.
As, soo desu ka... I've never seen the layout of the track before. I always figured it was a track with a lot of twisties. I'll look at the Nürburgring course when I get home.
I think what he meant to say is that the s2000 lost all that time in the straight aways. If not, then I have no idea what he is talking about.
