Smile Help convince me to want a Touring

CN: Help convince me to want a 2006 Touring over an Enthusiast.

I have read numerous threads about the Enthusiast model being the best buy for the money - but here's the thing; I really want power and leather seats. To add leather (aftermarket) to an Enthusiast would cost about $1000, and I don't see any way to add power seats. A Touring model is a few thousand more but to me it seems worth it.

I also want to put in an aftermarket DVD/TV/GPS unit, I have read it can be done while still retaining use of the Bose equipment. What are people’s personal experiences with this?

Any help would be great - thanks

Then get a touring model
Seriously, in 2006 the Touring became a sweet value because it's standard MSRP dropped almost 1k to smooth out the gap left by the Performance trim. The Enthusiast MSRP actually went up a few hundred. Enthusiast is still the best overall value, but...yea, just get the touring. It's worth it.

Interesting that 350Z owners will consistently remake that the Enthusiast is the best value, yet choose the Touring. Go figure.

I believe there's a sizable portion of the Z market, (the collective that would never consider themselves "enthusiasts" or ever post on a forum like this...you know who I'm talking about!) that doesn't much care about 'best value' so much as "Hello, we're looking for an automatic with the leather seats please"

And damn am I happy with my choice!!!

This car is sweet, and looks nice from a distance, but people see the orange leather and want to hop in. This is a very good thing.

Also my parents live 5hrs away, so the 6 disk changer is nice.

Have an 05 SB touring. I feel it's the biggest bang for the buck! Enjoy.

Because it's coupe turned roadster, I think formulas like that have always been less popular where as born-roadsters like S2000, Z4 and Boxters are more popular.

i have an 06' touring.. dont listen to the blah blah base this base that... Touring is a good deal i got mine for 33k out the door.. the factory leather seats are beautiful, and i like that they are power.. my previous civic didnt have power anything, im loving it.. and i dont know about the previous years but the bose system in my car is awesome! i would never change it, who the hell cares about after market sound? i would mod the motor way before that, the bose system is quality... The touring trim makes it so all you have to mod is the motor, maybe a set of rims and tires ... but the interior is perfect.. i love my car!!

I was in the same boat as you, but after seeing an 06 touring I fell in love. Go for the touring you will not regret it.

It all comes down to what you want in a car.....I like the concept of the Touring..it has power leather seats, 18"s, etc...a great touring car..but if youre on a budget or plan to track or really mod the car...you might be better off with saving the difference between the trim levels and apply that money to the mods. For me, normally I would get a Touring because of power leather seats and stuff, but this time around Im going to be doing more track stuff and plus I already have some Bride seats that I want to use...so the touring wouldnt be worth it to me....so enthu / Track here I come

On the Coupe, the Enthusiast does not have power seats.

If you want the power seats by the Touring. Nothing wrong with it. Most of the posts on the Enthusiast mean simple it is the "best" buy of the bunch. But if you want other stuff move on up.

Seriously, no offense...but have you heard an aftermarket stereo in a Z yet? Try it out and you'll understand why 95% of the folks who post in the AV&E sub-forum have swapped out their Blose systems.
