there is a kit you can buy that makes it possible. unfortuneately i can't remember their name, but you should be able to find it with a search. or most good stereo shops can figure out the wiring and install a switcher and set it up for another signal input.

I think the kit he might be referring to is just a switch/convertor box that you plug devices like a laptop, game console, backing up camera, etc. and you plug that switch box to your navi screen. The switch/convertor box cost $400-500usd

Now if you are talking about some way of making the dvd player that has your map data be able to play movie once you insert a dvd movie, I believe it is not possible, or at least I have not heard of anyone that has successfully done it.

I think the switch box is the way to go since the OEM Navigation DvD player costs around $900 - $1,000 to replace and any modification to the unit would void your warranty.

Take a look at this forum http://www.nissanmurano.org/forums/s...&threadid=2301

I bought a Navbox from Generator and it works great. You have to use a Xbox to run your video but it fits perfect in the glovebox and you can play games as well. Let me know if you need anymore information.

Yes, I believe that is the sort of box I remember being $400-500 in price: http://www.avelectronic.com/NavigationVid-Switcher.htm

Basically it's pricy because it basically has tons of inputs.

Last time I checked, generator was not selling the NavBox any more. It is unfortunate that he stopped selling them as I think it was the best way to add an XBox to the Z. Definitely one of the less expensive methods to utilize our factory Nav screens.

Maybe if we drum up enough support, he'll start making them again.

Does anybody in NJ do these types of installs? For a reasonable price that is.
