Default clutch is gone at 5500 miles

my clutch just went. i have 5600 miles on it. i had the same isdsure of clutch sticking a while back and never took it it due to not having ne time... i took it tot he stealer today and they told me they wouldnt kno if it was warenty untill they dropped the tranny. and at the point they got me by the *****... so i said whats worst case senario... service manager was a dick and didnt wanna hear that i had 3 cars with a 6sp, and in over 100,000 miles i have never changed a clutch i also ride bikes and drive trucks all with manuals. but since im young( 24) he thinks i abused it. he said he just had a older man in his 50's or 60's come in with 4800 miles and had to replace the flywheel also, and they robbed him for 2300 bucks.. i said give me my keys. im gonna call nissanUSA tomorrow and give them a piece of my mind
ne 1 have ne ideas? or new clutch i should get? i do not abuse the car, dont run it at the track, occasionally i do a whole shot, i do not grind the clutch, if im not shifting gears my foot is off the pedel

Ne suggestions?

i want a clutch thats not too hard to depress, but also 1 that can withold a little abuse , this is my every day driver

thanx

Considering the miles, I hope that the dealer cuts you some slack: 5,500 miles is absurd. On the other hand, the clutch is a wear item. Best of luck.

What symptoms are you having? How do you know the clutch is "gone"?

get JWT clutch. my stock clutch started slipping at 8000 miles, including hard launches using NOS.

When I went in to get my transmission fixed, the dealer tried to get me to admit to abusing my transmission, but I have always been careful and this was no case of abuse. There was not even a point where it obviously broke. Then he tried to get me to say I let my brother drive it, and he broke it, but that was such crap because my brother hadn't driven it in a year and I was with him. Nobody had driven my car but me!

So they try to get you to admit fault, and then nail you.

In a similar situation to yours, NissanUSA did not reassure me at all. When I called them, they totally sided with the dealer, and they were quite slippery on the phone too.

I keep getting the car fixed for free, but it sure takes a lot of effort and nerves.

Oh yeah, and the point I was going to mention!

If your transmission grinds like mine and others', they usually (if not always) replace the clutch as well. I don't know why this is, but I can only assume the clutch has some kind of related problem.

well a few things gave it away. 1 is i can take my foot almost all the ay off the clutch and it wont stall . this in 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and reverse
, also while im driving the clutch slips. all of a sudden if i tap the gas the revs shoot up with out he car goin ne where and then it catches and the car jumps
the wost is being in second and making a turn or trying to switch lanes and letting off the gas and getting back on it. the revs sometimes hit 3500 be4 the motor catches.

im gonna end up putting a jwt clutch but keeping my flywheel unless there is nething majprly wrong with it, but if it just needs a little resurfacing i will machine it...

i can always buy the flywheel if need be.

be4 i change it im gonna call nissan usa and tell then my situation tewll them the dealer is jerkingme around, then im gointo change the clutch myself cuz iown myown shop, if there is nething wrong the it, from my doing they will not hear from me, but if there not obvious damage done by me i will go nutz, after sending them my ****ed up clutch and demanding mymoney back, i will take out full page adds inthe paper as well as putting up banners infront of the showroom, stating not to buy a nissan with a stick shift they r made like ****

ne way enough venting,,, its not about themoney for the clutch its the principal there is no way a clutch should go at 5000 miles with mild driving, and an occational WOT

no way... if so. then these parts are made like ****. and as much as ilove the car, i will rethink my purchace...
