2005 Leftovers
The time is near, I will be looking for a Z in the next couple of weeks. I see there are some left over Z's at the dealership. What would you expect to pay on a leftover 2005? How much below invoice should I shoot for?
At one point Nissan had a $1,000.00 rebate on the '05's so I'd start at $1,000 below invoice. Chances are the dealer will go better than that just to get it off the lot. I've read some members on the board getting great deals through the dealer's internet sales or fleet sales departments.

My 05 Touring was listed at $37,000, I got it on November, and I got it down to $33,000. Now, 06 is on every dealer, when I got mine, 06 weren't at the dealer yet. I think you can get pretty good discount on a 05.
Go to the dealer and if they only want to give you 1k or 2k off list price laugh at them and say you are going to another dealer because you've seen at least 3k-4k off list price (probably won't work if you are looking at a base model @ $28K, but should work with any 05 over $32K)

I was looking for a slightly used Z, the way they hold their value I am better off buying something brand new and saving myself a couple % on the financing. Oddly enough their isn't anything in my town that's a good deal right now. Most of the Z's being sold are auto's as well.

I think 1-2k under invoice or some good financing is resonable.
at the end if you do the math you will find out that lower financing will be the same as the $-discount.
delaership is not a charity - they want to make MONEY!
By the way if sb gave me $5k discount I will check the car twice... there must be something they didnt tell me about.
