Please don't give me the "you get what you pay for speach" by comparing it to an infiniti.
My old 2001 Maxima had a real nice key. The key fob was so so, but not as bad as the one that came with my new 06 Z.

unless u want to have different keys for different trim levels
because its unfair to u if the base owners who paid less get the same luxury key that u paid more for ur GT touring roadster
If the whole key thing bothers you that much, go buy a remote start system... otherwise, a key is a key. Its sits in your pocket, and in the ignition... imo doesnt matter if its pretty or not.
I met a buddy for lunch yesterday. He's got an '05 G35 sedan. His key stays in his pocket. He can unlock the door by pushing a button, and he can start the car by turning the ignition switch housing (no key). Alternatively, he can put the key into the ignition switch and turn that. It's very cool and yes, I wish my Z had it.

The Z is cheaper because it doesn't have stuff like this. The cars are in two different price ranges and as such come equipped with different stuff..
the murano has the intelligent key and the 07 sentra will have it. It really isn't about expense, the key's themselves aren't that different in price. Nissan started using the system in Infiniti's and it is now working its way down into the nissans. The murano is the suburban house wife car so it got it first, since the 07 sentra will have it as an option i bet most of the cars in 07 will have it. And someone said to have it on the GT you would have it on the base, that is just wrong. The murano doesn't have it on all models and the 07 sentra won't either, since the intro of keyless entry cars have had different keys for different models. Cars without powerlocks don't have keyfobs, (Xterra) while the models that have powerlocks do.
Totally agree on the weak key fob , our other car is Nissan Altima exact same key fob, for what I paid for the touring you would also expect some other upgrades like Auto headlights, compass and inside trunk release, little things but comforts i was used to. The Altima which is a 2003 has all of that without leather. The least we could have had is a cool key fob.
Forget the idea of nicer keyfob...we shoud've received a key with
INTEREGRATED key fob like mentioned before.
I don't feel so bad tho..after seeing that if you
buy a Ford GT you still get same key as Ford Mondeo lol
Now THAT'S CHEAP.

EDIT: can somebody with photochop skillz post some kind of picture with a HUGE (like 2 feet tall) keyfob and a tiny key. Or maybody somebody post some picture of a really big keychain and call it the next gen USDM Z keyfob.

This is what I was thinking when I started a thread on things we would like to see in our beloved "Z". There are several features available at minimal cost that could elevate the prestige of the car.
