ThankZ for finding this part number. Next step, who has access to ordering this part number in the US?

I'll blast off an email to JapanParts.com to see if they can get this, unless somebody has a better way of getting this? Maybe somebody from PerformanceNissan or CourtesyNissan?

Update, I'm trying to pull some contacts to see if I can get my hands on one...I was hopeful that somebody else would have tried it out before me. I'll keep talking to myself on this thread in the mean time.

According to Google.com as of today February 22, 2006:
"23160 Japanese yen = 194.982419 U.S. dollars"

I'm a little worried about doing a group buy if it's not proven to work. Anybody wanna give me a hand money wise to try this out?

I can forward my email to anybody who wants to give this a try for themselves (namely somebody from a dealership, cough cough).

EDIT: I just posted the entire email note, hopefully somebody will help out.

Already working on it, I've called Nissan Consumer Affairs and have an open ticket to get the operating frequency of the USDM keyfob.

Step 2: Call Nissan Japan +81 0355652141 to find out the operating frequency of the JDM keyfob.

I just tried calling the number for Japan that I got from Nissan USA. I'm guessing that since the time difference is huge there is nobody there because nobody picked up. What is odd to me is that I didn't even get a machine.

Anybody else have stats on the operating frequencies or a known working number for Nissan Japan?

We are talking about the JDM Key with integrated keyfob.

Seems like a lot of work for a key but if it works, i guess it would be worth it.

OK people, turns out that the UK also uses the JDM style key (integrated keyfob). Does anybody have any way of getting info from the UK or getting parts cheaper than from Japan?

EDIT: Last minute info

According to the techs at http://www.keylessride.com/ , the US 350Z fob is operating at 315MHz.

According to some ebay.co.uk vendor http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NISSAN-MICRA-A...QQcmdZViewItem

So in conclusion, the parts would NOT be compatible unless you went and changed the receiver on the car. Anybody wanna take a stab at getting pricing/part number ? Can anybody verify this information? I've got an open ticket with Nissan UK and Nissan USA to get their respective operating frequencies.

Default VERIFIED: US spec fob NOT compatible with JDM/Europe fob

After useless calls to Nissan Consumer Affairs US, UK and Japan. Useless emails to Nissan USA and UK (they sent be back a response saying to ask my dealership about "after market parts for your 350Z" ).

Here are the specs: http://www.autotechs.com/items/item1176.htm

FCC ID: KBRASTU15
Model Number: ASTU15
Frequency: 315Mhz

As an added bonus, check out the FCC say on the exact subject we are discussing.

As a side note, this would rule out getting the Euro spec alarm receiver because it would be in violation of the FCC code 15.231. Don't you just love the way the FCC says "as you know"?

Now on to the UK/JDM version. It turns out that the "Siemens VDO 5WK4" does operate on 433MHz, in fact it is exactly 433.92MHz according to the Bosnian equivalent to the FCC.

(5th item on the list)

So thus proving my initial theory. Do not order this key, it will not work in the US spec 350Z. As a side note, I beleive the FCC post answer's this thread's initial question "why couldn't the Z get this?".
