Default My friend just got an STi

My friend just bought an 05 WRX STi, how will i hold up against him with a greddy TT setup, strictly bolt on??(on my Z) it will be with the FMIC and tuned as well. He has a Stock STi, eventually he will upgrade with a BOV, actuator and a boost controller... how will i hold up then?...any experiences, im not trying to start a war(im not asking which car is better or anything, just curious)... I just want to know how i will hold up.
thx, Shea

jus to let u know, Z's could actually beat STIs from a roll but off the line, forget it! Damn the AWD!! Anyways, with Greddy TT, u can easily spank him! First off all, hes stock and theirs no way ud loose unless u really blow at driving but i doubt u are. Even if u were a descent driver, ud still own him.

Race him and ull see what i mean. Show the STI the power of TT Z!

STi's run about 13 seconds flat bone stock. That's no joke....that takes care of a hell of a lot of turbo Z's.

STI
0-60 mph 4.88 s
0-100 mph 12.49 s
1/4 Mile 13.36 s @ 102 mph

Z Stock

0-60 5.4 s
0-100 13.8 s
1/4 mile 13.9 s @ 102 mph

the STI are fast but a TTZ is alot faster!

From a dig HELL NO. If you can race from a 2nd gear roll you should have no problem taking him

a guy I work with has an STI. I had 420whp (until in for build). He rode in my car and was absolutely blown away at how fast it was. Didn't even consider racing me. He said my car was the fastest car he had ever ridden in, and he's a good driver. That should give some idea what you're looking at.

if your a good driver you shouldnt even waste your gas, if your at least a decent driver you should walk him, bad driver you should still beat him.

from a stop, if he can drive at all he will pull hard on you but after first gear it will be all over.

BTW: Someone driving a Z that knows how to launch can easily beat an awd car out of the hole if the other driver isn't good at launching

Don't need to get all defensive, but u sound like you are asking if your RWD can outlaunch an awd car with a TT setup AND your supreme driving skillz since 13... it will be pretty damn hard (even with slicks) to pull it off unless the STI spills coffee on his lap at the startup..

if you look at the numbers previous posted, their trap speeds is about the same STOCK, there is no contest afte a TT setup man...

Stock he should still get you out of the hole if he launches accordingly. The more power you have doesn't necessarily mean you will get out any faster and in some cases it will be slower off the line(Traction and wheelspin) The STI has been known to take many more powerful cars off the line. But after the first few gears you would catch up and pass him due to your superior power.

Oh, and a BOV is not a good choice for initial modding, same goes for a boost controller. ECU Managament(Reflash, Tune, etc) and exhaust mods(Downpipe, Cat-back) are the way to go on these cars.
