Default Something wrong with my 06 transmission?

I am having problems when shifting from 4th-5th when my rpm's are over 3500. The shifter seems to "lock up" in neutral as I take it out of 4th and it doesn't want to move at all into 5th unless I put it back into 4th and either slam it really really hard into 5th (where it hurts my palm) or i wait till the revs go below 3500 so I can shift it smoother. It is fine during normal driving, but when I am driving more spiritedly it always gets stuck between those two gears. I hope I didn't get a messed up tranny. My car only has 590 miles on it and I haven't gone over 4000 rpms due to the break-in. (minus the time I was trying to pass a car and it locked up between 4th and 5th and i released the clutch and revved it really hard in neutral, i think it went to redline)
help!!

edit: sorry i had the gears numbered wrong

go to the dealer and have them check it, could be several things, none of them good.

Thanks guys, I'll probably be taking it into Performance Nissan in a few weeks. I hope it's nothing too serious.

When you get there, be sure to talk to Jason.
Service managers I would recommend are Paul or Tim.

Hey guys I'm looking to buy a 350 in the next couple weeks/month but this tranny issue is really making me wonder. But I'm also wondering, are you guys rev matching when you shift? Because I know you shouldnt have to with modern car synchros but i mean, it is a sports car?

well not rev-matcing will wear on the clutch more so than the gearbox. you should be having this sort of problem doing regular up-shifts

well right now i have a modded 95 eclipse gst and besides the addicting feel of boost, i just hate FWD, all the problems my car gives me, and the fact that i my ignition system is comprised of God, Jesus, and the holy spirit so I want a RWD car with lots of power but i dont want it to pay more for a different car that will give me the same headaches. I mean i have 2 friends with 350s, one has tranny problems, the other doesnt...so its 50/50 from what i see ...suggestions?
