I just heard about a guy tonight who had a pager alarm and it paged him because his car was getting stolen and he ran out and there were 3 guys trying to hotwire it...

well he tried to stop them and ended up getting roughed up and watching his car get stolen... they were idiots though and all got caught the next day i believe... but is that sh@tty or what?!

yeah, i was thinking that he "may" have heard about that if you can find the part behind the door handle to make them roll all the way down automatically, im sure it has something to do with that or the remote/keyhole window up and down switch. thats why i lied to him

the window regulator probably failed, and the window just rolled down on its own and let the thief in, then closed up automatically after he left...damn regulators...

That's improbable.

True, but they are a lot louder and slower.

I know this guy with skyline R32, and his **** was stolen no matter that he locked it, and had a steering wheel jack on. PO-PO found his car 2 days after crashed into a tree. no broken handles, windows or ignition key thingy. It looks like someone had keys for everything.....oh, and his steering wheel jack wasn't there eather. I think those guys underustimated R32's power and crashed. It was sooooo stupid. Braddy(Original owner....my friend) had to pay almost 15k to get his car back to normal. Now, this sucks

That would be a perfect situtation where a concealed gun permit would have been very useful

+1.. If these guys are going out STEALING CARS I wouldn't expect them to have nothing to defend themselves.... I wouldn't go out there unarmed. or better yet

Don't believe? Try this:
- Sit inside your car.
- Lock it with the remote.
- Unlock it manually and open the door.

Alarm will not go off.

You need to get a "real" alarm system.
I agree with the real alarm bit, but technically our cars have a rather formidable vehicle immobilizer activited for our security. Which should stop hotwire (hoodlums) type thieves anyway. If a guy wants to load your car up on his flatbed (Pro) and sell your car as parts, (thats all it will be good for without the immobilizer key) its gone no matter what you do.

I already have lojack installed but after reviewing how things work i also need a Compustar pager system with 3000 foot range and i also need a hood lock.

After reading many many posts and a few break in posts i sort of figured out that if some one wants to bash your window in no alarm will go off stock wise, then they can open your hood and unplug the battery and do any work they want and you wont even know it, when they done they can plug battery back in and most likely take off.

I figure with compustar if some one touches the car i know and if the alarm goes off and they try to disconnect power they wont be able to get my hood open unless they got my key.

This is what i figure may be the best for me but like every one said a pro is gonna get it no matter what. But i hope to stop amatures.

He should have brought a couple friends with him ... Smith and Wesson. You can't shoot someone for stealing your car but you can if they start to beat you.

If no one is left to testify against you then its your word against theirs. And they'll be dead.

one of my ghetto friends who owns a classic mustang doesn't have enough money for an alarm; so all he does is remove the battery contact everytime he is away from his car. it works and is free but ghetto.
