I applied for the SCP sponsorship a while ago and they called and I told them that I changed my mind that I didn't want it. They simply said ok and that was it. Today I get an email saying that I won the sponsorship and they were charging my credit card. If I dispute the charge, should I be ok?? Has this happened to anyone else??

Why not call them and explain the situation? If they are a decent company, they should refund the money. I would think that disputing it would be alot of red tape. How much were you charged?

how is it that they sponsor you and you are the one who pays them, seems a little backward.

If that is how it works now, HyperSprite.com has 200 open sponsorship spots available, first come first served, available at $150 each. 20 Gold sponsorships available at $1000, these are limited, so make sure to act fast. All sponsored cars will get 2 HyperSprite.com stickers (allow 6 weeks for delivery).

SCP sponsorship isn't a real sponsor, I believe that you just purchased a DVD.

If you placed a internet order, then canceled on the phone, you may have a difficult time proving that you made the phone call. Unless you have some sort of cancellation verification number.

Best of luck.

Wasn't there a thread discussing this scam a while back? Not sure if it was SCP, but what you describe sure sounds familiar. In the previous case, it definitely was a scam.

yeah SCP is total Bullsh1t. Everyone that applies for it gets it. I know a dude w/ an 89 cavalier that got "sponsored" by them. All they did was charge 80 bucks to his credit card and sent him a DVD. So pretty much you get an 80 dollar DVD.
