14-min 350Z video, full article, 12:01 a.m. Eastern
You can ask him questions on zdriver.com. I asked some details which you can see the replies here:

Check out the online article at www.sportzmagazine.com, which has more handling/performance info. Also, Carl will have more specifics on the car's handling once he gets the 350Z out on the track later this month (if things work out the way we hope!). From what he's told me, it handles like few other cars he's driven. But he'd like to prove it on the track.

Thanks for the reply, but I'm not sure that answers any questions. "Handles like few other cars he's driven" could be good, bad or indifferent. Wouldn't it be possible to give impressions of how a car feels to drive on the street? I mean, I'm not planning on driving mine on the track at all, but I can still tell if I like the way a car drives. Oh well, I guess there will be other reviews of the car all over the place in the next while.

Would it have killed you guys to supply someone to hold the damn camera so that we could have actually had a view of the ride (driver, scenery, dash, etc.). I mean, it was kind of lame the way he just wedged the camera in there so we had a static shot of the lower part of the dash on the passenger seat. Hell, you could have pulled any one of us here on the board to volunteer to be cameraman just for the free ride in the Z!
The dude should have had one of our Detroit bretheren do the camera work. That view sucked. Anyway on to my point.. The shot of the front strut bar had mobil 1 10w 30 written on it. Did they put that in at the factory or after they got? I want to put that in right away. Any thoughts?
It's all in the article online, www.sportzmagazine.com. But to answer your question here, yes, the bar is factory installed. Sharpie handwriting optional.
BTW, there was no way we could get another person in the car--Nissan had very few slots for test drivers and understandably allowed only one rep. Indeed, Carl was lucky just to get the video. At the end of his day, he swiped the car for an extra 20 minutes and figured he'd give filiming a shot...

Just a counter point to my fellow forum members, your/Carl's video is the next best thing available todate, short of riding in or driving it myself. Yes, I agreed, it could have been better if the video camera is a little higher, but no complaint from me. My best experience todate is sitting in the car stand still. Your video beat that by a mile.
Thanks again!!!
Dave: Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the opportunity to "ride along" but you mean you would have to have Nissan's permission to simply have someone ride in the passenger seat (not another driver or reviewer mind you) so they could hold the camera?
Actually the way it works for us smaller publications is that two reviewers go out together and alternate driving time. It's rare you get the car alone--we didn't expect to. Carl got extremely lucky on two points: 1) his "codriver" for much of the day was Joel Weeks from Nissan (no switching necessary and amble opportunity to grill), and 2) he got the car to himself for 20 minutes at the end of the day (when the driving portion of the video was filmed).
When we sent Carl to Detroit, there was no plan to even have a video. He brought his camera along out of habit. But when Carl watched the driving footage (chirping in third!) he figured it was worthwhile to put something together for you 350Z fans. Of course that includes Sport Z's publisher, who's ordered a Touring Silverstone for himself. I just wish he'd give one each to the rest of the staff!

No compliants here. I found the video informative since I haven't been able to test drive the 350z yet myself. :-) I already know all the stats, so the focus on the interior feel were welcome. I liked the onramp launch too.
I currently have a Z32 N/A, so Carl's comments were meaningful to me in that vein.

Nick, head on over to www.350Zforum.com and look for our Sport Z banner. I'm on the general forum page now and it's right there. Click on large version and you'll be happily in Z heaven in a matter of minutes (or hours, depending on download speed). BTW, be sure to check out our 12-page 350Z series of articles in our upcoming issue. The deadline to get the issue as part of your subscription is August 20 I believe. Good luck!
