Default Coupe or Enth/Per/track?

The coupe being the basic model, is it a good buy compared to the others that have the stability system and traction control stuff? Is the other stuff really worth it or would a coupe be fine? I'm also looking at resale value.

Thanks for input,
Steve

Get the enthusiast. You'll regret not getting tcs and lsd. HID's are nice too.

If you are looking at '06s it makes the decision a little tougher

I was gonna say use the search button but I couldn't find an obvious search word or a drawn out thread already beating this to death so~

If you want to mod it to death get the base.

If you want a solid package at good value get the enthusiast for the few amenities +LSD and TCS. Also very mod friendly

Don't get the Track imo. It's the worst value on paper, unless you're warranty paranoid or really want the OEM brakes and rims (you CAN get more from the aftermarket for the amount you'll pay on a track model)

You have been a forum member for more than 2 years. My apologies but I have nothing to add which has not been discussed in detail a dozen times.

I was coming from the prespective of buying a used 350z. I found a coupe thats nice, but the price is a little high and I want to make sure I get stuff that is useful(tracton control, etc).

Ya, I have been a member for two years, but have not been to this board in quite a while. I bought a S2000, nice car, but now I want to try a Z. So, I am back, researching.

If you're looking for best 0-60 times, a pre-06 Base-model has the highest torque/weight ratio of all Z-models.

Hey you guys, I noticed on the forums lately, everyone talking about TCS, LSD, HID's, and I know in the auto world and what not these are acronyms that are constantly used.

I am confused by what you guys mean when you say LSD, because for trucks, I've heard my buddies refer that to Limited Slip Differential. But for the Z car I didn't know what you guys were using.

Thanks for any help.

Lenny.

you got it right... LSD is what it is... limited slip
TCS is traction control
HID is xenon lamps (high intensity discharge)

Mesola, I appreciate your reply.

Thanks for the information. I got one more question. I have a 2004.5 Touring Model, What is the difference of LSD from the base to the Touring??

Thanks again.

Lenny.

I'd say Performance or Enthusiast because...
-Track models are too expensive, it's cheaper to get a Perf/Ent and upgrade the brakes
-Touring has added weight and leather can be rather slippery in "spirited driving"
-Base doesn't have LSD, HID's or cruise control

I have a Performance... only a little more than Enthusiast(which is what my first Z was) and has TPS and VDC instead of the standard traction control... the irony is that I never use the VDC, and my current tires don't have TPS.... I guess I'm wasting that extra few hundred bucks I spent

That says it all. Base w/o LSD, HID and cruse are worthless. Any anything higher than Enth just has a bunch of crap options. Get Enth and mod it.

+1...

The only thing I would like to get as an option is leather. Other than that, the Enthusiast is the best value.

I have just got a new 06 base model like 2 months ago and it does have the HID's so i don't know if they just changed that for the 06 but they do come with that but you are right i do regret not having the LSD or the TCS and not having cruise sucks but thats all i could afford so i definitly say go for the enth.
