Well Car and Driver say 5.8 - so maybe if car-stats.com drove the 350Z it would get 4.8

I like that street start, it means the engine is very flexible. I also like that top gear acceleration, remember this is a 6-speed overdrive. I also like that 0-30 means its got a good launch. A lot of stoplight action is in the 0-30 range.

I'm sure Motor Trend and Road and Track will have better numbers.

street start is is exclusive to C&D I think. It is obtained by having the car in first gear at 5 mph constant speed, and then flooring the gas and accelerating as fast as possible to 60. Thus 5-60 acceleration. You might think this take less time because it is only accelerating 55 mph instead of 0-60. But since you do not get to rev the engine and drop the clutch, all cars take longer. The Z is actually very good because it is very close to its 0-60 time.

For example a corvette that ran 4.5 in the 0-60 took 5.2 street start. A WRX was much worse 5.4 vs 6.6 street start. This is because the WRX gets its good 0-60 by dropping the clutch at 5000 rpm and having good grip with awd.

other interesting 0-60/street start times:

5.4/5.7 350Z

5.0/5.5 aston martin DB7 415 HP V-12
4.6/5.3 ferrari 360 spider 395 HP
5.3/6.1 boxster S 250 HZ
5.7/6.0 540i 282 hp

the Z is looking better all the time
