LOL, for the love of God i wish. This situation would NEVER apply to me. 27 yrs old, Black, not a spectacular driving record, and driving a nice car. In the southern burbs of Chicago, cops pull me over just because. Ugh, youre a lucky guy!

Some cops know how to differentiate the big fish from the little fish. They pull you over, give you a warning, admire the car, then let the little fish go back into the pond.

When I had my STi, a police officer sorta pulled me over (Flashing his lights) He just wanted to check out the car, My STi was one of the first in the area and the police officer owned a WRX and knew all about the STi...

We talked car stuff for about 15min and I offered to let him drive it, he turned me down, but you could see he really wanted to drive it..

Cops here in Southern VA are crazy. In LaCrosse, VA, their cops are CRAZY, they actually pulled ANOTHER cop for speeding. This is tuff territory down here..

Me and another guy in a 240sx got pulled over after racing on a highway. Cop told us that he saw us race, clocked us at around 100mph, and that we should take it to the track. Then, as he was walking back to his Durango, he turned around and said "oh, by the way, nice car kid".

Scaring the crap outta me and being cool about it, this cop made me gain respect for the law... something a big fat ticket could NEVER do

This reminds me of the story when I first got my Z in 2002. I was like the 13th Z in San Diego. Well, I got stopped by a Chula Vista cop just for the purpose of wanting to see my car. Turns out he was a big Z fan and just couldn't wait to see the car up close. He loved it ofcourse. Cool cop too, he went on of how he had a Z in high school, a 300zx and now he was looking forward to a 350z.

they mostly seem to come to my door with their hands on their guns, lol. must say i have had some lucky experiences with cops letting me go for really BIG tickets and stuff, but when ever they hit the lights, all that goes through my mind is "crap, how much is this going to cost?!?!" lol.

Does anyone else think its messed up that a cop can pull you over and waste your time (maybe you're in a hurry to get somewhere) just to look at or ask you about your car.

Assuming you weren't doing anything wrong.

I think its messed up that cops have so much power on the roads, especially when it isnt dished out proportionally.
I've had a cop let me off without even giving a warning, and another that tried to tack on as many little things as possible. 80% of cops are on power trips, usually the smaller the division the bigger the ego. But I cant say I would ever be mad that a cop pulled me over and just complimented my car even though I was doing something illegal... that would be a huge relief that would outweigh being late for something
