Cool My late night run-in with the Police

So it's 2AM and I'm just getting off of work, and a friend of mine is at the gas station down the street. Roads are empty and I duck through a hole in the concrete median and drive on the wrong side of the road for 40 yards or so and turn into the gas station instead of going down the block to wait for a green light to make a U-turn. Thirty seconds later a cop pulls up behind me and the lights flip on. She gets out and walks up to my car. Her first question was "what was that?" I told her I was on the wrong side and that yes I did it on purpose. Another cop pulls up (seems like they like to tag team all the time.) I was expecting her next question to be "liscense and registration," but instead it was, what kind of car is this? I reply that it's a Nissan 350z convertable. The other cop walks up and shines is flashlight at me and his first question is "what trim package do you have?" Turns out his wife bought a redline touring a few months ago. So we sit and talk Z's for ten minutes, and at one point he asked "not that it will change anything, but how fast have you gotten this thing up to?" I told him 145, to which he replied, "yeah, I've had mine to 138. They were very cool and of course let me off without a ticket or even a warning for that matter. It was fun to see, even cops are Z fans down deep. Has anyone else had a run-in with law enforcement where all they want to do is talk about your car?

I have the exact opposet story. My friend just broke in his sti. so we went to the chevron i live across the street from to get gas. a white 350z pulls up he's scanning the sti. so my friend is done flling up . and the 350 is still fueling up so we pull up next to him, and asks if he wants to race. he puts his hand in his pocket and pulls out his badge. Needless to say i was busting up all the way home and my friend got the crap scared out of him.

I have been stopped for speeding one time in the 350Z, and that was the cop’s exact same question. I wonder whats up with that?

Funny, I've done that a few times myself. I like the reactions. First its, "oh ****!" then its "hey, you're my new bestest friend."

One time I raced a Stang and killed it on the street. Couple mins later a cop pulls me over and tells me looks like you beat that Stang. Gives me a warning and compliments my Z.

I was doing 10 over past a trooper out here, he stopped me and asked the same question! Then told me to have a nice day and that I had a "sweet ride"

I got stopped for 70 in a 55 and all he said was "you ought to be more careful in that nice new car" then procedded to give me a ticket. Thing is, I live in a small town and have known this guy for 15 years. Can you say JEALOUS with an attitude. The worst part was, I was on my way home with chineese and wasn't even screwing around......Talk about pissed off......You guys got some cool cops..

Here in Phoenix they would have rolled up on you with guns blazing for that. In addition to that they would have ruffed you up a bit and then hauled you off to jail along with giving you 30 or 40 tickets for stupid stuff you didn't even know they had laws for and impounding your car...

God forbid you reach into your pocket to get your license here in AZ. A good percentage of the police are on the juice and get a little trigger happy from time to time...

Thats becuase the cops there are total dicks. (most of them anyways)
I know a lot of police officers in maryland and even they wont even show their police badge if pulled over in NVA becuase they know it wont do jack for them.

very first day i ever drove the z (bought it used with some 20's on it) i pass a cop going the other way on a 2 lane freeway. i see in my rearview he turns around like he thought i murdered someone. flies up behind me and pulls me over. says he thought my tint "might be a little to dark" (in cali any tint on the front windows is illegal). then asks me about the car, rims, and trim package for like 20 min. never even asked for license, reg, or ins. turns out hes always wanted a z but his wife wont let him get one, so he just wanted to stare at mine upclose
