Ive been a deputy for 7yrs. and like a lot of cops I love cars. Being a cop is a JOB its how I choose to make money to pay the mortgage and buy mods for my Z. Two guys I work with have Gs and and 1 other Z. I always make it a point to treat you like you treat me at work. A ticket is 80% attitude.

I've been pulled over eight times, but I was never asked that.

Of course, only the last time was in the Z.

Well you could always verify that you were pulled over injustly and cause a big stink over the issue...
but that seems like a lot of trouble to go to just because the guy was genuinely interested in your car

I have family members in law enforcement and I understand that someone is more likely to get a ticket if they are a-holes and/or rude, etc. but the fact that officers have it at their discretion to decide whether or not someone gets into trouble because of whether or not they like them leaves something to be desired in my mind. I'm a 21 year old college student who pays my own way for everything, bought my z w/o parental help (in fact ive been on my own financially since i was 16) and have always had respect for law enforcement and a clean driving record. Ive only been pulled over once and I believe the cop thought I was some rich spoiled kid which I am not. It's my opinion that he was looking for an excuse to pull me over and that is what I don't appreciate.

It makes me laugh that some of you guys think my story is bs. Why would I lie about it? To seem cool to the online world? I actually posted right after it happened because I was still feeling the relief and laughing about it. I was curious how many others have seen something like this and it looks like a few have.

Don't get me wrong though, most cops out here are a$$ holes too, and I was ready for it. Most of the time they will be **** about anything from no plate on the front to haggling me about my white bulbs. I think she mainly wanted to talk to me, make sure I wasn't under the influence, and after I told her straight out I did it on purpose and we always meet there before/after work, she decided to play it cool. The second guy that pulled up had the the sherrif marks on his truck so he wasn't a normal cop and was a total Z head. I bet I would have gotten off with a warning anyway because my record is spotless. Anyway, cool experience although I don't have to go through it again.

Back when my '90 300ZX was new, I was out driving around late on a Saturday night. It was warm out, so I decided to take off the T-Tops. I pulled into a closed gas station and parked under the lights so I could see what I was doing. I get the first T-Top off and, as I'm standing there with the T-Top is my hands, a cop rolls-up. Naturally, I'm thinking, "Hmm, this looks bad. He probably thinks I'm stealing this T-Top." I tell the cop, "It's such a nice night, I thought I'd take the tops off." The cop was like, "Oh, I just wanted to look at your car!"

I had similar situations in 04 so it does happen!

Cop in Daly City, CA (suburb of San Francisco) pulled me over for a "routine" traffic stop. He asked me if I owned the Z, how much I liked it, how much did I buy it for, what's the acceleration like, did I lower it, can I pick the rims, are the breaks good, etc... THEN after 5 mins of BS, he asked for my license and reg. When he came back he said he liked the style and was considering buying one and let me go....

He was so into it he didn't say anything about my tint (20% sides /5% rear) or my lack of a front license plate!

Even when I got my ticket for 100 mph+ the CHP asked the same questions about the Z. He didn't notice the front plate or chip in about the tint either.

I guess I got cool-cop-karma!

On my first and only run-in with a State Trooper, I was in traffic when a black '96 300ZX passed by in traffic. So naturally I sped up to get close to him. Mind you I also cut across a turn off lane to escape all the "slow movers" around us. I wasn't planning on racing him, I just wanted to show some respect seeing as we both had the same car <different generation>. Out of nowhere I get flashed and pulled over and after asking some quick questions about the car, he just wanted to make sure I wasn't going to race the 300ZX. Thank God I got off with just a warning to "drive more carefully next time...."

Damn, you guys are lucky. I had a situation where I cut off a police officer once. Man, was he pissed. He yelled at me big time. After I explained myself politely, he said he would be right back. He came back and said I was free to go. He said that his car was fu@$ed up enough as it is anyway. We both laughed and I said thankyou. He told me to be safe and make sure I look before turning. This was in my Dad's frontier though at the time. I got bit$h slapped with a ticked in my z though for doing 90 on the hwy. Oh well, I'm not always going to get out of a ticket like I usually do. Funny thing is I always get busted when my friends are in the passenger side and never when by myself.

I just got my 350z on Fri 1/27/06. The following Monday I'm drive up I75 to Ocala and outa no where get pulled over by Florida Highway Patrol Harley Man as I'm going up a hill South of Dade City. I was pissed. My radar/laser didn't go off or anything. I'm thinking "This guy is on crack, he can't pin anything on me". So he walks up and crushes me by saying "You were just timed by aircraft going 82 in a 75. Do you anything to say about that?" Crap!!!! So I didn't have my new insurance card yet and he gives me a ticket for that. He didn't like my temp registration so he calls for backup and two FHP cars roll up and give me the third degree. Asking to look in the back and taking out my lap top for a stupid inspection.

After he gave me my speeding ticket and lack on insurance ticket he lets me go. I drive over the crest of the hill and there are litteraly at least 20 cops with people pulled over. I've had a ton of tickets and gotten outa most of them, but this one is going to be tricky.

I figure my ride is so fresh it even looks like it's going fast from ten thousand feet in the air.

By Aircraft?!?!?! WTF! Is this a joke? Or do you mean by helicopter? This add to the revenue game is getting out of hand. Cops like this need to f#ck off.

Sweet! I hope I luck out like that sometime. Or better yet by a hot girl cop.
And then I woke up. And am pulled over to the side of the road by some bloated lady cop that smells like dunkin donuts. LOL. My friend got pulled over because first he was following me which a z already gets enough attention. Second he had a bright red maxima with body kit and the whole nine. 3rd he had tinted windows, white tailights and a pretty loud exhaust. Mind you there were several other male cops. She was the only to pull him over and give him an attitude by asking where I was going(who cares, she didnt pull me over) and proceeded to tell him to keep his car where it belongs...in his town since it's ok to have white tails there. He actually had the top half of the lights red. Anyway, stupid reason to give ticket since I followed him from PA and was able to distinguish every time this guy stopped. And very unprofessional to be telling him where to drive his car. I came back around since it was a one way on the street he got pulled over for him to tell me this. Some lady cops just suck. Although the guy cops that came as back up were askin him about his car and the different mods it had. That was actually pretty funny. Some cops can keep it real. Lots of respect for those kind.
