Unhappy I'm going crazy waiting!

So, I try to get to the bottom of all this. I ordered back in September and was told to expect delivery no later than the end of January. The few times I actually got a hold of my dealer, he said it had been ordered and that it should be here by the end of January. He said he'd call in a couple weeks to give me my VIN number. Couple weeks go by and no word. I try calling, no response.

So I contacted NNA. They told me that my dealer has been ordering Zs in lots and therefore they have no way of knowing whether or not my car has actually been ordered or what the status of it is. ARGH!

So, now I'm searching dealer inventories in my area, but to no avail. I found one that was similar to what I ordered, but it was gone before I had a chance to go look at it. And of course, my deposit with my dealer is non-refundable. Again, ARGH!

I know the car will be worth the wait, but I'm losing my freakin' mind here. Last I heard from my dealer, my car's delivery has been pushed back at least a month, and with no way of checking up on them, I don't know if they're trying to screw me or if they're being honest.

Dammit, I want my car! Hey, Mike, you still want to give me yours?

Okay, end rant. Thank goodness for this support group, or I'd never make it through the long Z-less nights!

Nope. Because my car is supposedly in the group, I don't have a seperate number distinguishing mine from any other car. That's one reason I'm worried. How am I supposed to know my car has been ordered?!?!?!?!? Take the dealer's word for it?

Yeah the wait sucks big time (I know) but, hold it together sister! We don't want you showing up bald at the next meet.

My dealer did the same thing (ordered mine in a group) and things worked out OK. He showed me a car with my specs in the group ordered and said, "this is your car". I then got the order number of that car and, even though it was in a group in the dealer's name, both he and I knew it was mine and we began tracking that number. Later we got the VIN for that order and the car arrived and was mine. (Mine all mine )

Have the dealer show you the list of ordered Z's and the one that meets your specs.

Good luck.

I think I'll be stopping by the dealership this weekend (if I can wait that long!) to make a little noise.

Thanks for that tip, Wayne. Sounds like it should work for me. I'll just have peace of mind knowing that the car really is on its way home to snuggle up in my garage.

That's so cruel. Now I'n going to have nightmares about my garage eating my Z when I FINALLY get it! (Yes, I have a SERIOUSLY overactive imagination--I have some of the most f-ed up dreams!)
