I'll repeat what the others have said...it's your decision. Period. You can listen to and respect advice that others give about cars but your "bro" hasn't given you any except for some BS. Buy what's going to make you happy. Your buddies obviously haven't spent much, if any, time around a Z. They'll come around after you smoke their *** a few times (on a track of course).

As for how much to pay for a Z, there are much better deals out there than the one you first looked at. I paid $21k six months ago for a touring 03' 6mt with 19.5k miles. Keep looking.

I think that what your pals might be talking about is exactly what someone else mentioned earlier ... happens to me from time to time ...

Some kid pulls up to me at a light in an eclipse or a a civic with a loud exhaust or something and they rev up. I just laugh and when the light turns green, we go ... well ... he does ... I just drive casually, like a normal person.

Then they slow up, get beside/behind me again, and tear off again ... meanwhile, I'm just chugging along doing the speed limit.

10:1, they'll be telling their friends how they 'smoked' a Z. *shrug* ... that's fine ... I don't care. If I wanted to race, I'd take it to the track. I like what I bought. It moves the way I want, it handles the way I want, it accelerates the way I want, it sounds the way I want, it looks the way I want ... basically ... it's what *I* want ... could really give a crap and a half what anyone else thinks.

Now ... if your friend is paying the note ... suck it up ... but ... until then, I'd say they can keep their opinions to themselves.

Hah if it makes you feel better i smoked a ss cobalt on friday night. from a roll 40-90 mph, it wasn't even close. I had someone in the car too. Buy whatever you want, your the one paying the monthly payments.

Zeo - Thanks for posting the Carfax. I was just going by what was posted in the ad. Glad you pulled it for us. Point is you can get a nice '04 Z with about 6-14K miles on it for around 18-19K..... Keep looking enycepunjabi !!! It's out there.

I agree !! That is deceptive advertising. When I buy my next used car I'll for sure run a Carfax.
This experience really opened my eyes !!!!

But I dont fully trust carfax...my first car was a 98 prelude (then I had my 01 prelude afterwards) and when I bought the car I checked the carfax and it was CLEAN. Thats the only reason I bought it. A year afterwards when I wanted to sell it, a potential buyer came to my house to see, loved it, and told me he would go home to check the carfax. If it was clean he would give me my asking price. I was so confident that he wouldn't find anything suspicious, since I didnt when I bought the car. It turns out that when he pulled it up, the accident indicator came up reported that the car was in an accident with a utility poll and that there was "frame inspection" done at a facility. Luckily there was no frame damage. Anyway, he didnt buy it. I sold it to somone else for much cheaper.

Had carfax reported this to me PRIOR to buying the car, it would have been nice. Carfax is good to a certain extent (to see how many owners there were etx). But to see whether or not the car was involved in an accident, one should pay a body shop person to come along and check it out.

I can't believe anyone thought that there was an 04.5 with only 8k on it and Nismo upgrades going for 19k and something wasn't up.

I got my 03 Touring with every option for that year w/ 50 thousand miles and extended warranty only 18k, I am positive you can haggle on that price. Oh and two thumbs way down for the RSX, my buddy had one, I took him on with my g/f's stock 350z to make it fair and blew him away. Slobalt and Super Neon I would not even consider sure you can make them faster but at the end of the day they are still glorified low end cars that you will see out in the street all day long. I wanted to be different and get something not many people in my area have and customize it to make it my own, just my .02 cents.

Hey, what can I say ...... I thought it was a great deal that I dealer did a repo on or something. He didn't disclose the information on eBay as he should have. I saw a Track version last year for 21K so maybe that was damaged with a salvage title. Dunno ...... I just don't expect that from a dealer.
Image the lawsuit that one would cause. Not worth it for a dealer.
I just don't understand.

Guess I learned my lesson, huh? I must be way too trusting. However, believe you me before I plunk my cash down on a car I know what's what.

There are 350Z's out there for 19K with less than 35K is my point.
