Im on the way to buying a Z...my friend wants me to stay in a 4-cylinder group and consistently puts down the Z...heres a convo..He is in BOLD letters.

Then I just signed off...man a true friend would be happy for me. My other friends have civic si's and they're all happy for me. I have made up my mind 110% on the Z. I know once I get it he will stop talking to me...that shows how much of a friend he isn't.

he didnt want me to sell my prelude, which I sold yesterday. He was like "If I drive your prelude I can kill a Z..watch"...I have been driving stick for a long time...thats the stupid things he says.

And no, hes not a fob. Hes greek, hes been here for all his 22yrs. The fact of the matter is he has a 2002 accord coupe, automatic, slightly modded and he wants me to stay within that group of cars. Im sorry thats not happenining. I worked my *** off to save up 20gs and damnit Im buying the 2004.5 Z!

 

Once you start showing up with the girls he'll be really pissed. Maybe you should buy a Honda to keep the peace. Not, buy what you like ..... I will say for 20K the new Honda Civic Si is nice. I would still cough up the extra 5K for the 350Z unless the improved mileage is something you need. No way would I spend the 25K on a RSX however. As nice as it is, the 350Z has it beat on all fronts except maybe the interior.

Good luck in whatever you buy. Just keep your eyes open for that '04.5 and up with under 20K miles for less than $20K. Anything better than that is a steal I would say. But like I said before there are even better deals than that out there. Er ..... and they won't all have Salvage Titles like the last one we looked at.

Of course, it is best to buy one from a good dealer that is close to you for that $20K. The hitch is your in NY so it might be a tad more difficult to do that. However, it would be better if you could do that.

i dont know why he's so hard on the RSX.. a guy at work owns a type-s and one day i ran into him on the way home. it was no contest every time. plus the 06 si makes the type-s obsolete now. which leads me to believe your friend is an idiot.

 

22? sounds like he's 16. You're the one buying the car, if you let anything other than your own personal satisfaction decide what car you should buy, you'll never be happy with it. He doesn't sound like he knows all that much about the Z or cars in general, anyways. he owns an accord? gimme a break

I know from first-hand experience that no SRT-4 can take a Z.

I've beaten:

Two different SRT's
A V6 Roush Mustang
an RSX
a 96 Z28 Camaro

So yea, your friend is a total hater.

 

An SRT-4 with mod's might beat a Z, but then again your talking mods. A Z with mods can walk an SRT-4. Your friend sounds like a 16 year old ricer

The mustang prolly just had a body kit and maybe suspension. I thought that the Roush car's were all upgraded V8s. Similar to the SVT Cobra's. I could be wrong though. Unless you're F/I, dream on against a Cobra.

RSX.. ha... not even a race. STI - depends on the speed you race to (most will get ya on the dig. Camaro... I know my best friend's will dust me until we get to speeds >100. Just my $.02

As for your friend not supporting you, ignore him. Get the Z, but never allow him to drive it. It's the ultimate torture.
