The stock number is: ZZA2064DVD from off the back of the DVD.
I watch this video about once a month. I plan on taking it to the drags this year and play it on one of the in car DVD players the guys have. I plan on doing this while we wait in the staging area. Expecially next to the M3 crowd. Lol !!!
There is also some really nice Touge footage/tests on the DVD as well.
As far as the blocking of the GTR. It helped to keep the pack together at first so you could see how they performed and handled at the same speed etc.... Had it not been for the GTR it would have killed the M3 by a lot more. The last two laps the GTR pulls away to make sure it's a fair race. Granted the Z was in front at this point but really the M3 couldn't keep up because it was so heavy and just didn't have the torque. The S2000 was pushing it at that point. Now if, the M3 was on the Z's bumper the whole time I would say different. The weight of the M3 and the fact that it does not have enough torque down low for it's weight is what did in the M3. On a tighter course the S2000 might be a winner. Something to remember: If you are in some really nice tight twisties without any straights the S2000 might be the winner. However, if you have some short straights in there it's a 350Z win.
I was amazed at the balance the 350Z showed. I was really shocked on how slow the Porsche was. They could have easily named this DVD "The Porsche Shock" for that reason.

I've always thought the M3 was superior to the Z performance wise.

I think what they were trying to say is with the stock tires that the M3 comes with it won't hang with the 350Z. However, they also said that the 350Z rear suspension could be improved as well. So, stock for stock I think they are saying the Z beats the M3. However, with better tires the M3 might have the edge. However, put a nice set of race wheels and tires on the Z with suspension tuning and you might be even again. Dunno ...
If we are talking straight line performance. I would also say M3 rules. But, in this case, under these conditions (somewhat damp at the start), and in the high speed twisties the Z beat the M3 stock for stock.
There is some really nice stuff on this DVD. How it compares to a R34 GT-R. Very Impressive!
They actually think the Z is more stable than the GT-R in the high speed turns @ 165-190kmh etc...
