The unit is much faster in responding in 05 and 06, especially when calculating a reroute when you make a wrong turn. I have actually made two more wrong turns after an initial wrong turn because the unit couldn't keep up. I even tried slowing down, but that just gets ridiculous. Also, it has a motorized door, whereas the first years had a manual that gave some people trouble. If you want a stock Nav, find an 05.

Took a test drive in an 05 & bought an 06. Seems the 06 has a more advanced Nav system. Birds eye view & better graphics. Also the 06 does not have the retractable door, no door at all.

Birds eye view is in the '03s, also. And, if there is now no door at all, maybe a double DIN unit from Kenwood and the like could be fitted with a little custom effort.
