Did you check the belts that drive your windshield washers? If they're worn and stretched out, it'll underdrive your motor. My car felt a little lacking in the power dept until I changed those out and added a twin turbo. Worth a shot....

For one put 93 octane in your car. Then proceed to a import car shop or race and buy a 300 shot of nitrous. Have it installed and redline the car for about 6 minutes in first while the nitrous is being injected into your engine. After that you should be fine. And if you do this have someone record it on video then post it here. Changing your fluids is all bs.

Okay these people are just messing with you. If you seriously think there is a problem with your Z, go to the dealer and have it checked it. It can be a wide variety of things. Some celicas and integras are fast, although none passed me by because I don't let them.

ac8024...there are no headlight fluids or blinker fluid. These guys are messing with you because you haven't put enough into researching about cars. If you want to make your car fast, you have to do some sort of research. You have to have some solid ground on car basics. If not, you're going to be flamed for the questions you ask. Use the search function on the site or google to look up topic on car performance. I would like to help as best I can since I too was in the same position before. PM me if you want help and dont want another thread to end up like this one. For your question...your car is not slow. Automatic does bog the car down somewhat. Although I dont have firsthand experience on the z auto since I have manual, I did on the auto 3.5 altima. I can definitely see the difference in the 2 cars. If you do want to make the automatic fast, you have to know how to go about tuning an engine along with other modifications(like in your position a valve body upgrade). But if you are really concerned with this, check it out at your dealer. It could be that there is something bogging the car down. Use your stopwatch on your car's dash. Time yourself 0-60mph and tell us what you get. That way we can be able to tell if its within the auto z specs. Hope that helps somewhat. And spend sometime on the performance section of this site to help you with basic questions. Good luck.

I heard from someone who owns an automatic that if you put the car in neutral, floor it, then drop the shifter to "D" it should go much faster.

I have not tried this as I own a manual. Maybe you should ask some of your friends who know more about cars if this will improve performance

I did that on my old Z (which was a 5AT), I got the best times at the drag strip doing that.

why are you guys being so mean to him
just because he's not car-smart doesnt mean you should treat him like ****

ac8024, the manual says to use 91 octane or higher, maybe its because you use 89?

Desi, also if you want to do an Uber JDM spinout go about 50 MPH then slightly apply the brake and put it in reverse while cutting the wheel really hard. It's bad a$$!!!!
