Default Percentage of 2003's wit faulty 6MT's....

Does anyone seem to know? Do you think it occurs because people abuse their cars? Just curious because Im currently looking for a 2004.5, but would be willing to get a 2003 depending on how widespread the tranny problem is...thanks

My S/B Track Model 2003 has not had any tranny problems, feathering problems, etc. Only problem it has, is staying under 120 on the back hill roads with my other 350Z friends, where 120 is not staying up with us.

My 03 MT is fine after 29,000 miles but, buying used, I'd go 04 or later.

I did a search and I saw the thread regarding people who have had tranny failure. But my reason for starting this was different. I want to hear from the people who have NOT had tranny problems, and how far they have gotten in terms of mileage. The other thread only attracted people with faulty trannies, and thats why it seemed like tranny failure for the 03 models was widespread

My drivetrain is loud but still shifts well. I'm going to be putting in some Royal Purple fluids soon to see if it makes a difference.

No tire feathering here but we changed out the gearbox around 16k. Not sure if it was cause ofthe previous owner or what. Doesn't seem to shift much better, but it does not make noise like before.

2003 6MT Touring with 30k miles. Bought at beginning of January 03 with a build date of Nov 2002. No tranny problems at all. Feathering problem addressed by dealership under warranty at approx 20k miles and no problem since. I wouldn't write off all 03's, but I can understand your caution.
