the pre-production cars, right? From what's been said before, Nissan is trying to improve on these cars, so now that the embargo is over, does anyone know exactly what they are improving and 'unofficial' stats on production cars?

The only things that MIGHT improve are quality issues. I am sure if they are this close to production and the tests were done in the last few weeks that the only things that will change are minor things like fixing the cheap nav door. They can't do anything major to impove performance since it takes too long for testing to verify it won't break in 6 months.

I feel the same way... the only unbiased review of a car based on your important options, is your own review of a product.. Everyone has bias... just human nature.. This car is going to be a great car.. that is my bias!

I agree that they're being based on production cars, but why did C&D report the Z as weighing what? 3322 lbs.? In reality, the model they tested was more than 100 lbs. lighter.

Default production

Didn't we have some posts stateing that the car has been in production since the middle of June. How could they be making improvements if that is the case?

actually there is no way the car is still in design phase... It was finished a while ago... this is required to meet standards for production.. The cars that the reviewers had are possibly the semi finished prototypes I'm sure, however these were brought over some time ago... Not to mention the time it takes to tool the machines to be able to do the new changes... This car started final production status in may at the latest... possibly before then.. Not only that but it takes a month to get a car from the manufacturer to port... in just shipping time.. Not to mention the production time to fill the number of cars that can fit on their huge ships... we are looking at close to a 3 month lead easy... My current car had a 4 month lead on production for custom orders/special orders. This was after it had been in production for a year in mass quantities...
