I went to my local dealer and pretended like I wanted to trade my 03 fully load with navi for a base 06 so they wouldn't give me a hard time when I asked to test drive one of there cars. It turns out that I would never trade my Z for any of their cars because they were only going to give me $18,000 for it. I only had for half a year and they buy out for the car is around $24,000 and the 06 base was going for $28,000. But I did get to drive the 06and they power compared to my 03 is pretty damn good. The best I could say about the 06 is that the increase in power and interior changes. I most noticeable changes to me was the ride quality and steering was very soft compared to the 03's. The clutch that came with was extremely light too which made me appreciate my clutch which I thought was light. Driving the 06 was very comfortable and easy which made me feel like it was less of a sporty feel, but the rpms reved up quick and made the car feel lighter, which isn’t true.
I'm happy with my stiff and sometimes rough 03, but does anyone know what adjustments were done to the engine to bring it up to 300?

Yea i had the same experience it feels more like a g35 rather than a Z. The steering in my opinion is too light you dont get the feeling that you have control over the car. Although the interior and build quality i think looked better. The navi interface looked better too.

The exhaust and intake valves have variable timing, previous models only have variable intake valvies. I think it has stronger connecting rods as well. Some other stuff I cant remember but go to www.nissannews.com You'll find the upgrades for the 06.
