2004 350z Paint Issue. Please Help.
Alright, I'm new to the forum and I just wanted to check the status of anyone owning a 2004 having issues with paint bubbling. My car is an everyday driver, and it was parked 3 nights ago in an apartment complex while i was out with friends and when i came back the next day i noticed someone had driven into my car on the driver's side and hit the wheel well in the front strong enough to not only tear down past the clear coat into the paint but also leave a crease in the body work of the car. So the next day I wash the car and it looks like bird**** on the hood I wash off, and I notice when I'm trying that spot the paint is going crazy. I silently kicked myself and wrote it off as the bird ruining the paint on my hood. But as I continued to dry the rest of the car, i notice 5-6 spots of tiny bubbles all over the top of the car, the back end, and the hood. Not to mention the spots are running, so if you look closesly you can see these little bubbles branching out. I understand this was a problem in the 2003 line-up and I call the dealership and their response was Paint is only good for 36k miles or 3years. Any similiar problems out there, or any thoughts on a course of action i can take? This car sat under a porsch cover for 6 months while i was in the military so it technically has only been exposed to the North Carolina elements for 18 months.
A picture is work a thousand words.
There are plenty of Z paint problems, but those are generally related to chips. Before you take the dealers word about paint and the warranty, read the warranty.

Just curious...what did the part about someone backing into your car have to do with the paint bubbling?
The only issue I have since with the paint is that it chips and scratches super easy. I haven't heard much about bubbling. Did the car cover have any chemicals in it or anything that could have soaked in over those 6 months?

No the cover was a porsch cover kept on my dads 2001 carrera 911. His car was the same color and experienced no problems from it. The Z was covered during the week and driven Saturday and Sunday, washed on sunday and recovered that night.
Also, to whomever asked the question about what being backed into had to do with the paint bubbling. Good question, absolutely nothing, I was just trying to give a quick overview of any trauma the car had been through.
Thanks,
Lanny
