Default I Need Help!!!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So I bought a 2004 350z. It's silver and I love it to death... Now it's time for upgrades... I just have so many questions so hopefully everyone that has been there done that can help me out...

1. I am going to put rims... Some Volk 5 spoke, dark with the chrome lip. I figure 245/35/19 (front) 275/35/19 (rear). But, I wan to drop it as well. How much can I drop it where it doesn't rub or f__k anything like the VDC up. Any brand recomendations... I'm trying to do this ASAP so all your help will be appreciated...

2. I am going to add some side skirts and front and rear, but I want something plain. Maybe like a greddy front, veilside sides, and I'm not sure what for the rear. I just want something basic that looks aftermarket but nothing that was created in a test tube.

3. I have a system in it as it is... A single 10" with an amp. It's in the compartment behind the drivers seat. I have seen peoples trunks with a box built into that bar with the Z badge and it sits twards the seats. I've been asking around and I can't seem to get anyone that knows where to order them.

4. Last but not least, I want to get the blacked out tail lights. I can't find the replacements anywhere. Is it just a film that everyone uses, or what!? Same witht he rear revers lights. Now the headlights, can they be painted or should I look for some black ones...

oh yea.... The HID's they look nothing like that of a BMW or some fancy *** car. I guess we have like the bottom line HID's. If I just order the upgrade lights lkike the 1200's will they get alot brighter and different in color. Or is there an entire process to it besides that....

ANY help will be greatly appreciated!!

regarding the tail light black out tinting...all it takes is some regular window tinting film from walmart (lighter the better). Use hair dryer to smooth it out.
i got 5300 hid bulbs and they are aftermarket and brighter than stock hids.

Actually i would like some more info on the 19" wheels and VDC, fitment as well. But i will offer up this. Because of the way our cars are with those bug ole fenders and bulldog stance, i would definatley throw those Volk wheels on first then do your kit. which you were probably gonna do anyway, but it doesnt hurt just to make sure! But i do like your taste with clean kits..if i ever do a kit it will be a lip kit add on. Good luck.

Just a hint for using the forum. Subjects are specific to specific forums. This post mixes wheels and interior. There are plenty of suggestions and helpful hints in both forums.

Congrats & Welcome!

I'd say if you want a very conservative drop, go with some Hotchkis Springs .8"-1" drop & no additional aftermarket camber arms is necessary since you can still get it within OEM spec. They have a TVS kit that comes with adjustable sways & is reasonably priced which makes it a good bang for the buck mod. Eibachs, RS-R, TEIN, & Tanabe springs are also fairly popular. I'd say anything over a 1" drop, you may need to consider purchasing aftermarket camber arms. There are plenty of springs out there to choose from. It's just a matter of how you want your ride to be. If you're willing to spend a little more, there are also various coilovers to choose from such as the TEIN with the EDFC which is fairly popular.

2. I am going to add some side skirts and front and rear, but I want something plain. Maybe like a greddy front, veilside sides, and I'm not sure what for the rear. I just want something basic that looks aftermarket but nothing that was created in a test tube.
If you want simple, the Nismo kit adds a bit more aggressive look to the Z but somewhat still retains the stock look. Again, this is going to be very subjective. You'll have to look at all the kits & chose one that YOU like. Best place to start looking is the following site:

http://www.350zonline.com/gallery/

3. I have a system in it as it is... A single 10" with an amp. It's in the compartment behind the drivers seat. I have seen peoples trunks with a box built into that bar with the Z badge and it sits twards the seats. I've been asking around and I can't seem to get anyone that knows where to order them.
Sorry, I'm not an audio guy but the best place to post this is under the Audio Forums.

4. Last but not least, I want to get the blacked out tail lights. I can't find the replacements anywhere. Is it just a film that everyone uses, or what!? Same witht he rear revers lights. Now the headlights, can they be painted or should I look for some black ones...
Most people use overlays to get that effect. Contact a member named "Blue Batmobile".

Headlights will be a different story since there is a bit more risk to doing this because you can easily F' things up by not sealing it properly (leaks). You can either DIY or have someone like member "Mr Zipps" do it for you.

http://www.mrzipps.com/Nissan.htm

Now if you have a lot more money to burn, you can also try ClearCorners.com but they are more high-end & will cost you $$$$.

oh yea.... The HID's they look nothing like that of a BMW or some fancy *** car. I guess we have like the bottom line HID's. If I just order the upgrade lights lkike the 1200's will they get alot brighter and different in color. Or is there an entire process to it besides that....
I've seen a few people change out the bulbs but personally I don't think it's a big deal. I think our OEM HID lights are bright enough plus changing the color may give you some unwanted attention. If you want a Bi-Xenon headlight system, I'd swap your OEMs for the '06 units. The '06 taillights are really nice as well if you want LEDs .

Good luck & Happy Modding!
