Default Engrave the Muffler/Door Handle?

I was showing my mother a Z at the dealership the other day and they asked me if my Z had a engraving on the handle of the symbole of the Z, I said no...which actually might be a good idea.

Anyone here know if it's possible to do a good CLEAN job of engraving the handle or the stock muffler of the Z? I know Nissan Japan has a Z muffler option with engraving, as shown on Tako's, is it possible just to engrave it on our american stock Z's without changing it?

Here's a pic of the japan nissan Z muffler with engraving..

Anyone here who does engraving?

For the door handle I was thinking maybe a Z symbole, then maybe a clear coat or something over it to make it smooth. anyone think this would be nice?

handle/=metal, so you cant engrave it. not with it looking right anyway.

as for exhaust, seems pretty wasteful since you cant see it without it being on a lift.

I cant see my muffler.... without like getting down and looking. perhaps its something to do with the setup of an aftermarket muffler that makes it visible.

good point. I can see it from maybe 15 ft back, but not withen 5ft of the car. I would still be interested if it wasn't a bad price though, a nice little touch for people to look at as you zip past them

well then Id say first things first, remove the muffler, then you would have to find someone thats very good with a chisel

most places I know of that can do that require it to be a bit flatter than a muffler. but maybe they make something that like suction cups to the metal and can carve... but still you run into the problem of designing the etch.

Id say it would be a huge hassle assuming you could figure out a way to do it. but dont let that stop you if you really want it.

Default don't engrave - glassbead

engraving is not the answer... what you do is glassbead or sandblast.

I've done this on metal parts in thepast and it works great.

I have a sign shop cut me a logo in reverse on heavy vinyl. Then apply the reverse image vinyl (essentially a mask) to the metal part. hit it with a sandblaster and then remove the mask.

by the way..... to the surprise of many, the door handles are actually plastic with a faux aluminum type of plating.

I just might think about blasting a Z logo into my stock muffler.... hmmmmm...

In my opinion - the Z logo is already plastered on the car enough. Just my opinion though.

Very true, inside there is a crap load, exterior you have the 2 badges on the side and the 350Z badge on the rear. All of them are badges though, so maybe a little engraving will look nice.. I'd like to see pics if anyone decided to do this
