you guys need to come to Hawaii. you wouldn't believe how many trucks we have. all the truck owners have the same stupid comments: "I feel safe being so high, sports cars better watch out or else i will run them over". sure, trucks run over cars all the time. and worst of all, they all think that they are the fastest on the road.

 

Ugh... That's such a weird coupling of cars to decide over. I'd take the Z just because I'm so wary of Ford quality. I remember seeing a Top Gear episode where they do a review on the Lightning. It wasn't very flattering to say the least.

whats the point of a fast truck? You would need to slow to 5mph just to make a left turn at the light. 2.5mph if you're making a right turn. unless you like flipping over.

Get the Z!!!!, get a Z and then get a used Nissan Frontier, or tacoma if you need to tow stuff.... You can get a New enthusiast Z and a used Frontier/Tacoma/whatever other truck for around the same price of a new Lightning....

I both Z and a Lightning that is heavily modded. The lightning as far as power wise and drag crushed the Z hands down. The Z feels slow in comparison. However I have had my Z for a month now and since have yet to drive the Lightning. Hands down the Z is nicer, looks killer and just more fun to drive!!

 

I also have both... Got to have something to tow the Z to the autocrosses...

Get both. First get the more practical one, and then save for the other one. But forget about the lightning POS. Get a DIESEL!!!!!! if you want to go fast in a straight line, tow with ease, and have great fuel economy. Most diesels with a little work and a chip will eat a lightning. They can take a real beating also; it’s a great feeling when you hit 30-40 psi of boost.

Wow what a wide spectrum of solutions on this. My brother has a lightning and I use it all the time for hauling stuff so I feel you delima of needing a truck. As a G35 owner I hate to make a whole group of people mad but yes the g35/350z are very nice cars but its all in what you want or NEED. The lightning will hands down spank ANY n/a G35 OR 350. The only time I even came close to him is when I had a procharger running 7psi with his less than 1k in mods he still raped me in short runs but at high speeds they bog down with a top speed in the 120 range. And all you guys thinking your so mature with a 30k sports car need to get over yourself look around 70% of people spend 30k plus on any car now. Hell for 40k you can get a 1 year old elise that will aesthetically rape our g35/350. Just get tired of hearing how mature or grown up the g35/350z makes someone feel or think they look. And for the people who say its a f-150 thats like calling a EVO a lancer either way you'll get WORKED like a rented mule by both.
Get what works for you if not the lightning try the SRT-10 it even has 4 doors and with a boost you looking a 750hp. She has a heavy a$$ but with some mods and that viper engine watch out.
Easy choice if you need towing or hauling.
